Damnit.
We still have a whole damn week to go before kickoff. This is positively killing me. I go in the basement and see all the tailgate stuff just sitting there, waiting. It's calling to me, saying "It's go time, why am I still here?"

I need to see tangible evidence that this team has either turned the corner, or is still the craptacular squad that we saw last year.

I honestly believe that the CSU game is going to be a the barometer for the season. If it's the same old, same old we're done, if we can dominate I think there's cause for optimism.

I remember feeling this way last year too, and that CSU loss pretty much destroyed everything. Hope it's different this year.

One more week is pretty much killing me. However, I have my son's birthday party that morning and then a wedding to attend in the afternoon. My priorities are all out whack next Saturday. The things we do to keep a marriage going.

But then I thought I had some good news. I bought one of those new walkman deals (you know the ones that don't play tapes and you have to plug into your computer). My wife loaded it up with my CDs and tapes and such. The thing is the size of like a silver dollar. Went running the other day and turned on the radio. Worked pretty well because I was listening to 87.7. However, when I went to switch to AM it wasn't there. What freaking good is this piece of crap? Here I thought I could conceal it in church because it was so small. Now I have to bring my big yellow Sony tape Walkman just to listen. Maybe my wife will hide it in her purse or something.

I'm with you on this one Sacky. I want to get fired up about this team, I honestly do, but I need to see it on the field. Not going to get sucked into preseason hype or expectations.

On the good side, Saturday is my birthday. The Buffs wouldn't dare disappoint me on my birthday, would they?

Let's hope they're not the thermometer.

:yeahthat:

I'm finding it pretty hard to get fired up this year. First time in my life I have felt this way. I hate it.

Yeah, the waiting sucks. Glad my new neighbors are from boulder. Having our own little buff party at our house...

i watched the team go through "walk through" a little today, that helped. they had the buses in the lots and everything. a complete "walk through".

Not even remotely as fired up as last year. I was so fired up last year. Then one of the worst games I have ever witnessed occurred.

Tough to get fired up now. I try and remember the good times from recent years. WVU (not a pretty game, but still a W), OU. Almost coming back against Bama.

Hope the coaches and the team get it figured out this season.

Just stay excited over your tailgate stuff and you will have a good season... don't let the excitement spill over to the actual games....

The 2009 pre-season hype followed by the harsh realty of opening week messed me up. Charlie Brown pretty much sums up where I'm at.
