LSU vs North Carolina game thread

as posted above. LSU rolls and big. i thought they would win anyway but with UNC missing 8 starters? ugly. and im talking csu fans momma ugly.

prefect reason why Gary Crowton (lsu OC) was a bad coach. Before the game he said to Musberger that it would take him 3 series to figure out what UNC was doing on defense with all the players they are missing. A confident coach would be testing that secondary on the 1st play of the game. Crowton runs 2 running plays and a safe pass to the side..

LSU just got another fumble recovery.

i dont know that i will even bother with that game. i have the tcu/osu game on.

LSU just scored on a punt return. 23-10. LSU looks like a NFL team with their DL looks like and their speed at RB/WR.

on to the 2nd half of the TCU/osu game

Crowton is an idiot. He wasted Russell Shepard's freshmen season, even though he averaged over 7 yards per carry when ***** for brains got him the ball.
Miles should have fired him.

Got to give Butch Davis and his staff credit, half their team was missing and they could have given up, but they fought hard until the end.

He totally out coached Miles with half the talent LSU has - this will be Miles last year at LSU. The seat just got hotter!

Shouldn't that have been a penalty against UNC on the onside kick where they hit the LSU guy before the ball got there? Or was it legal because the LSU guy came inside of the 10-yard zone to field the ball?

If the opposing player touches the ball inside of 10 yards, all bets are off and it's a live ball.

Understood, but what I'm asking is since the defensive player was hit before the ball got there, shouldn't that have been a penalty?

You can block forward. Most teams defend an onsides that way by having some guys take out guys from the kickoff team to make room for catching the ball. You don't have to wait back there like a sitting duck while the other team gets to come at you from a jogging start and 10 yard sprint.
