I see in other threads that people (understandably) are not confident that the administration will get rid of Hawkins. Just trying to get a gauge of Allbuffs here with a poll. Very unscientific answers, just curious where people stand.

I'm afraid he will save his job with 6 wins and a loss in a ****ty bowl game.

On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the most confident, I say about a 7.

I still have a little fear he will be retained, but then I think HOW? Just how could you retain him? There is no way we are gonna get to a good bowl like the bar was set, hell we probably wont go to any bowl AGAIN!

I have no confidence in the AD right now. They obviously don't care about the football program and that it's going in the ****ter.

My opinion is still that 8 regular season wins is 100% guaranteed, 7 is 50/50 and 6 or below is 100% gone. The admin/Bohn were just as burned feeling out in Cali as we normally feel. I think he burned up all his good will in that loss. With losses at Mizzou, NU, and OU pretty much guaranteed, he is already on razor wire. Lose 2 home games(not difficult) and it is goodbye.

That's what I thought last year, too. And that is what scares the **** out of me.

The administration, maybe. But I don't believe that about the AD for a minute...

I've convinced myself that DiStephano, Benson and the Regents will not allow Bohn to fire Dan Hawkins until the B12 exit is negotiated and it has been settled as to whether the Buffs join the new conference in 2011 or 2012. Will CU forfeit $7M or $10M or $14M in B12 revenue? Idealy, the decision makers would like to know what the Pac-12 television payout will be before dropping the axe. Will the Pac-12 network agreement bump CU's conference TV revenue as high as $16M or higher?

Inquiring CU leadership probably wants to know the economics before voting and approving any dismissal of Colorado's highest paid state official, Dan Hawkins and replacing him with a higher priced successor.

Due to the finacial risk and uncertainty of the AD's cash flow, I believe the admin will evaluate Dan Hawkins at the end of the season, just like they promised. By then, the administrators should have enough information to make a decision.

I suspect that Phil DiStephano would consider a trip to the Pinstripe Bowl in Yankee Stadium to be a big bowl game, being in NYC, and should CU achieve the requisite 6 or 7 win and get the invite.

Based upon the habitual penalty troubles and impotent offensive play, I'm not holding my breath that the Buffs will win enough games to become bowl eligible.

We're not at the end of the Dan Hawkins era, but we can see from here. It's a mere 11 weeks away.

There are two things that might bring about a mid-season firing: 1) DH getting caught up in some scandalous off field issue; or, 2) A whale of a benefactor makes an offer to buy out Hawkins contract who makes an offer CU can't refuse.

I'm not holding my breath for either.

Don't mind me, I have reached the depression part if loss. It was a lousy ****ing football weekend. All my teams lost.

100%. between bohns comments to donors about the admin being on board and hawks blaming of cu, this is over. Only question is when.

He's done. The only question is when in the remaining months of 2010 it becomes official. He is an assclown and he'll never work again in major ball.

I think he's done unless a miracle happens and he wins 8 games and goes to a decent bowl. Bohn wanted him fired last year and DiStephano already said 8 wins and a good bowl game. Bohn has to be so tired of getting the fans hyped up and then Hawk brings his team out and just pisses on everything Bohn has done.

There were 4 key games on this year's schedule: CSU, Cal, Georgia and Nebraska.

Because of what happened Saturday, I think the only way that Hawkins keeps his job is by winning 8 or more games with at least 1 of those wins coming against UGA and NU. And he can't have any more Cal type performances. (Outside chance 7 wins is enough if we beat both UGA and NU.)

So what you are saying is that he is gone. great. We agree.

Didn't we all think last November that there was NO WAY he'd keep his job. So, it's possible he keeps it again.

I believe Hawkins is done after this season. Wasn't he even saying that the Cal game would set the tone for the Buffs this season?

I voted tossup simply because of the obvious - He went 3-9 last year in his 4th year, and has a 16-33 overall record. It was blatantly obvious then that he should have been fired, therefore I have no reason to believe that they're suddenly going to come to their senses regarding him. They're more concerned about political and public perception than they are about running the football program the way it should be run, and no big-time program that's even remotely serious about football would've kept him after these first 4 seasons he had.

I voted gone, but I suppose stranger things have happened. Based on the look on Bohn's face during the interview, I really think Bohn would like to fire Hawkins today. Yesterday, actually. Bohn is already looking for a replacement.

I didn't see an extension option on your poll, so it is hardly accurate.

True. If Hawk would just get that extension, the players and assistants would rally and we'd start winning. Damnit, Bohn!. Chop chop. There's no time to lose. We've got a season to save.
