I guess this was one of them there "twitters" you kids talk about:

"Buff nation, I promise you this type of thing will never happen again. Going out ther and playing like that will never happen again while I'm at Colorado and I can promise that! It's unacceptable."

And later: "We'll be OK."

I know this will get mixed reviews from "Buff Nation", but I like it. I hope the rest of the team is equally pissed.

Was that before or after he made it home to see the season finale of Entourage and Hung? Or how bout after loading up on cheeseburgers at In and Out the night before a big game against an athletic opponent? Talk is cheap.... My point is I'm sick of hearing all this talk because that's all it is just talk - the team's actions and behavior run contrary to a desire to win. The players need to shut their mouths, stop ****ing around on twitter and show us something on the field. Otherwise it just looks sad and pathetic.

Was gonna post something pretty similar, well said. Ill believe it when I see it EVERY week not a few Saturdays a year.

Yeah, I think what you are saying is the majority sentiment in good old Buff Nation.

They can be "pissed" all they want. What are they going to do about it? He and Cody could always play leadfrog on the sidelines. This kid wouldn't be a backup at most Big 12 schools. Nothing is going to change in Boulder until there is a complete house cleaning in the football program.

I appreciate the sentiments as stated. But for a whole off-season, his passing remains high-and-behind his receivers so they're tipped into the hands of any trailing defender...

OR they're thrown so low (below the knees) that his receivers act like Willie Mays sliding. And usually forcing them to retreat for those catch-attempts instead of even falling forward.

Well, that covers 9 of his 10 pass attempts at least. And when he's been able to hit receivers in-stride, they're so shocked they don't catch it.

So, how many years of repetition are needed? I know he's never had a full-season on the field, but these traits haven't shown any improvement from his first on-field performance. If he's going to claim "never again", I wish he'd have displayed at least HALF of his passes hitting his receivers in-stride. One out of 10 is NOT a good sign for someone to claim "never again"... I fear he's caught the Big Mouth Little Arm Disease.

Of course, Hawaii's one of the worst defenses in organized football. It should be EASY to prove it this week. "Never again" sounds like a BIG promise that includes more than 1 game against traditional cellar-dwellers.

I think talk like this has always gone on when a player gets really frustrated. With the help of Twitter and other social networks it is more public now. We get exposed to it.

Nice to hear the sentiment he has, I just don't see Tyler as having the ability to put an entire team on his shoulders and carry them to repeated victories. I don't see the major problems with this team as being on the players anyway. As so many have already pointed out a well coached team wouldn't be having the problems the Buffs are having.

Tyler Hansen you are no Tim Tebow. Go back to your twitter and taking pictures with the funny monkey.

I know that lots of us are frustrated about the disgrace that this program has become and no, Tyler is not Jake Locker or even close to a top flight BCS QB but at least he is willing to admit that the performance shown sucked and it needs major improvement. If only his coaches would take the same step he might have a chance to actually do something about it.

I don't excuse the kids for not giving a quality effort (again) but until we have a HC that has a clue and puts them into a situation where they have a chance this stuff is going to keep happening. I am a pretty highly self-motivated individual but I could easily see myself after an extended time in the situation that Hawkins has put these players just saying "Why give a crap, it won't make any difference anyway?" and going through the motions like the players seem to be doing.

At least it wasn't "working on cleaning up the little things" or "just a few minor things to correct"

I'm tired of the talk. Everyone on the team needs to either show up and play with passion and knock some heads or don't bother pulling on the jersey.

I'm sick of hearing how mad they are M-F, but come game day the entire team looks like they could give a crap about playing football. This is no different the Hawkins telling everyone about the best week of practice all last season, and every other lie that is coming out of Boulder regarding the football team.

Talk is cheap, and Hansen should know this from having division II Dan as his head coach.

The next time this team shows any heart, emotion, and desire to win during a game it will be the first time.

 sure th. Where was this on the sidelines?

Show something on a gameday, and mayyybe I will begin to respect you and this team. I saw you and your team stop trying. You are buffs. Grow a pair.

at least he didn't say that the cal game was just a "week to week thing" that happens sometimes. Funny i thought i heard someone else say that though....

Hopefully this means that Tyler has had a wakeup call. If he is finally seeing the bull****. If he understands that Dan is a fraud, this leadership has led to a complete pussification of our program... then maybe there is some hope for him. I would like to believe that he is growing up and stepping into the leadership role. That next year, our 1st year coach will have the benefit of a senior quarterback with good leadership skills and mental toughness.

Whoop ti frickin' doo....it's not like we haven't heard big talk before. I'll listen to it when the team isn't getting the red *** from everybody not named WY or CSU...

You guys are going too far, attacking players like we would if Hawk was quoted in a similar way. What did you want him to say, "we suck and there's not much I can do about it, sorry Buff Nation"? I'm glad some of the players are mad, unfortunately our coaches suck and they think another week of great practice will bring about change. I highly doubt Tyler can back this talk up, but I'm glad he's willing to go there still for this program.

They quit. I saw it with me own eyes. When they stop quitting, i stop calling what they say bull****.

I don't really care if they quit or not after the first half because I essentially quit as well. Miami vs Ohio State was too tempting. Another of Hawks patented comebacks in the second half to make the final score somewhat acceptable does nothing for me. Hell I'd rather they quit than come back and lose 44-28. Them "quitting" might be the fastest way to get rid of Hawk.

I want them to STFU and show up on field. Talking tough on twitter doesnt mean ****.

I really don't think it is attacking the players to say talk is cheap. This team is getting pushed around all the frickin' time. Excuse me for not taking their "I'm not gonna take it anymore" seriously after loss number 34 in less than five years. Sure, TH isn't responsible for all of it, or even most of it, I think he's the best QB on the roster and I'm glad he's here, but it's time to show it on the field, not with a tweet.

Fair enough, and I wasn't really directing that towards you. I had no issue with what you said. Calling him not even a backup QB at most Big 12 schools is pretty harsh. I didn't go there with Cody and I certainly won't go there for Tyler.

I'm cool with what you are saying. Peace.
