Does anyone think Hawkins has "checked out?"

I don't know him personally... but it seems to me that he is completely dumbfounded that success has not come easier. I believe that when he was 6-6 and went to play Alabama, that he THOUGHT this was turned around. The wheels fall off in every way and now I believe that all of the stress and criticism has negated any ability for him to perform....

or he may just be a bumbling fool who somehow got the HC spot at Boise.

I hope he has checked out. If he stops meddling with the coaches and players we may have a chance to win a few games.

On KOA the other day, he signed off without his usual "GO BUFFS!." They made a big deal about it afterwards.

Hes done. He knows it. You don't explosively **** the bed in front of your boss, his boss, and that guys boss. Hope he quits and lets cabral do the work.

The guy glazed over like a jelly doughnut in the beginning of his 3rd year. He has had no comprehensive plan, other than drawing straws, since.

You've been looking at too many MSPaints from Rugged's link...

I think, seriously, he checked in with the "Go play intramurals, brother" rant, but then checked back out, permanently, after Montana State.

I think, seriously, he checked in with the "Go play intramurals, brother" rant, but then checked back out, permanently, after Montana State.

The rant was passionate, but in context, it was very misguided. It was a player's parent who wrote him, saying "hey, we only get to see our kid for two weeks a year and now you've cut it to one. Could you think about what that does to a family?"

And the rant always made it seem like some slacker player had requested it, not a parent missing his/her child. Right or wrong, it was a parent, not a player. The unfairness must have stung knowing that Hawkins created a situation where he got to see his kid EVERY DAY --- but was reducing the amount of "off" time for the players to be with their families.

Of course, once CU quit going to bowl games, the families saw a lot more of each other in December, so it's all good.

Thread title reminds of me an Eagle's lyric.. "..you can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave.."

GTFO, Hawk. CU isn't Hotel California.

I'd pick (b).

And obviously the parent has not been able to see where the extra week off is translating to wins, bowl games, and a high number of players being drafted.

And they may be successful in the NFL if they can break the crack like addiction to juice boxes and orange slices.

Did he ever actually check in?
