Not sure if he addressed the team or not, but he definitely had a chance to speak with Ryan Miller.

Got to talk with Coach Mac today, awesome man! Preparing for Battle!

A buddy of mine played for Coach Mac and he said the dude just had a way about him. After a speech you would be willing to run through a wall.

Oh yeah? Well Hawkins made me throw the remote through the wall so there.

I smashed my TV remote on the day the Buffs ran wild in the 4th Quarter to win 27-12 in Lincoln.

I coudn't turn the TV up when the game turned around. The woman I was dating at the time told me years later it made her think I was a violent guy.. but that remote had to pay.

There was a guy who posted here who went through a few TV's if I remember correctly. Who was that ?

AZBuff, IIRC. He said he broke a sliding glass door once, too. I know the feeling. You just want to break something. Anything. So you break whatever is within reach. In my case, it has been remote controls.

:yeahthat: He was the best motivator I've ever met. I never played for him but in the few chances I had to interact with him or hear him speak he completely blew me away. I was ready to eat steel if he said "take a bite out of your car right now!"

I had a TV that developed a 9mm problem. Sadly it was unrepairable....:smile2:

I ran into Mac in Longmont about 3 months before Bohn announced he hired Talkins. We spoke for about 5 minutes about the program. After he left, I almost felt the same way. The man has a special way to communicate with people. Back when Mac was coach, my wife attended a party at their house in a gated community just outside of Longmont. She said when he spoke, EVERYONE listened closly and that when his wife took some of the women on a house tour, they went upstairs to find a playroom for Sal's son that was an exact replica of Folsom field. I would have loved to have seen that! That alone tells me Mac loves CU
I don't think he lives their anymore.

He might have been at the Buff Belle's luncheon if not at CU. Miller would have been there with Beatty.

Mac is very inspirational. he just has a way about him. like many others, i have a couple personal stories wherein i was left feeling ready to run through a wall.

some others have already touched on this, but it is a funny analogy to use, after Mac made people want to run through walls; Halk makes us all want to run into walls.

For you... atleast it is your nose that hits first.... for me, I have much bigger problems....

Speaking of larger than life people: Alfred W said on the radio today, he would be out on the mall Fri night, enjoying it all. Also said he bought a #1 (Bienemy) replica jersey from 1990. So, look for the tall guy wearing #1, having a great time.

This should have been a packed house, totally nuts celebation of one of CU's greatest ever. I can't go (daughter's soccer), but am hoping you all give him the welcome and respect he deserves

Go Buffs!!!!

nope. must be someone else. i threw a textbook into a fireplace (with a fire going) during a cu-knu game in the mid-90s and was banned from watching sports for several months by my mom. that is the extent of my (personal) property destruction at the hands of colorado football.

I threw a cooler across the room and put a big dent in the wall when Rocket ran than punt back for a touchdown...parents were pissed but lightened up once we realized there was a clip on the play. Thank goodness they are also Buff fans...(FWIW...still hate Tom Rouen)

My only personal property destruction at the hands of colorado football was in 2008 when I smacked my bitch cause she said CU sucks during the Missouri game. In retrospect she was right, but I can't let her get used to that.

I just called the cops....I would head to Canada now if I were you....
