Got something cooking up at CU. Board of regents meeting today to add an athletic council to help make decisions on future of the program.

Not exactly sure what that means to the current coaching staff. I know they're discussing a plan of action if things go south in a hurry.

This is an interesting development.

Things may be moving faster than we all anticipated.

I have the biggest smile on my face right now. I'm so excited for this weekend and the next few weeks..... It will be entertaining for sure

Just hope that whatever is done is planned out now so it can be put into place quickly if the need arises...hmmm, wonder when we would have one of those.

This should be a permanent group, actually, and not just for football. Hopefully a handful of top boosters will also be on it. It will be interesting to hear what the makeup, mission and permanency of this Athletic Council will be.

Hmm. We have a "Mac at CU" sighting. Hawkins signs off of his KOA appearance without his usual "Go Buffs." A special council is being formed. Hmm.

I'm hoping this would mean movement on Hawk, but I'm guessing it's not about that. I do think this athletic council might be a good thing, maybe the remnants of the $50 million club?

IMHO they already have.

I have no sources but I will be shocked if Hawkins is fired before the end of the season (right after NU)
I have this feeling Hawkins will be there on Senior Day as they announce Cody among the seniors.
I also bet Cody starts the game too.

Jesus I hope we aren't planning on shotgun hiring someone.

I'll say this, whatever it is, buyout for hawk, buyout for big 12, generating $$$$ by donors whatever...I'm thinking the pathetic showing last week of cu's introduction to the pac 12, got some of the bigs up their off their ass and I'm starting to see life of an administration that is starting to understand winning is important...

I would like to nominate Wyo, but not for HC. I nominate him for "Director in charge of punching undermotivated players in the face."

I humbly accept this nomination and want you to know I will relish this task and make every punch count.

Can we do that here? I nominate Wyo.

In all seriousness, I would love to participate in something like this and believe I am well-qualified due to my history with the program and my professional history. I think I could bring a lot to the table. Of course, they would have to develop more of a tolerance for physical violence (just kidding).

We have "top boosters"? Not according to ESPN.

I read the meeting minutes...it's about the budget for FY 2011 and no other Regents meeting until November so I'm sure the Pac-10 move was discussed.
