Gutsy call of the day

Watching that play unfold was one of those, "noooooooo wtf, oh, oh, yeeeeeeeeeah!" Thought they botched the snap since it was kind of slow developing but really it was just a sneaky play. The look of shock on Brian Kelly's face was great.

I don't think it was all that balsy since he knew his kicker had a less than 50% chance of making it.... Normal percentages in fotball say kick the field goal... but D'Antonio knew his kicker wasn't going to perform....

Wow. A coach that plays percentages. If our, er, coach did that, we'd probably be running a butt-ton more fake FGs too.

FYI, they said the holder was a QB in high school, so there was some confidence in knowing he could make that toss.

Best part is watching Coach Kelly take off his headset and just quietly drop it on the ground.

D'Antonio's reaction was odd in the post-interview. not sure how to characterize it.....creepy uncle or Bob Dobbs.

Wow, Dantonio had a heart attack last night after the game, and had to have a stent put in. Hope he has a speedy recovery.

wow, that's terrible. speedy recovery to Coach D. I meant no offense to him or his family, no idea the severity of that.

Was that Notre Dame's band on the field? If it was MSU then they didn't look too happy.

I didn't see that but the funny part about the TD was it was scored right in front of the ND band, they were standing down there in the corner of that end zone.

That's terrible about Dantonio. Sounds like he's doing good though.

Colorado footnote: Michigan State's next game is Sat Sept. 25 when they host the UNC Bears at home.

Parker Orms' big brother Dylan had a great day at QB yesterday making 18 of 24 passes with just one interception.
(They beat Idaho State 35-21.)

Not sure UNC can take on Michigan State, but I'll be rooting for them to pull the upset. Just like I rooted for MSU to embarrass Notre Dame.:smile2:

So, one week removed from the debacle, it's okay to say "go Bears"?

I agree that not kicking the field goal wasn't necessarily ballsy. However, deciding to run the fake FG rather than just a normal play with your offense was ballsy, IMO. That's a play you've run in practice, but never tried out against a real live team. Takes confidence in your kids that they'll execute the trick play to call it with the game on the line.
