Game Day Story - on the way to get a burrito ...

Just a quick footnote to Saturday's game, but I heard this from the dad of a CU player today.

After the game, said dad met his son outside the locker room at Dal Ward and took him to get some dinner (in addition to the pizza the players were given - which he said wasn't going to be near enough.)

They went to a take out place in the 29th and Arapahoe center and ordered.

While waiting for their food, a large group of noisy CU students came in and got in line, still wearing CU shirts and excited over the win. The students spontaneously and enthusiastically burst into the CU fight song while in line.

The CU player (a low-key individual who was in street clothes - no CU logos) quietly asked his dad if the students recognized him, and the dad said no - but he could say one word and they'd figure it out. The player just smiled and shook his head.

They got their food and left, the player still grinning over the fight song and that nobody recognized him.

Just thought it was a cool story.

Any thread that starts with "on the way to get a burrito" I automatically think is going to be riddled with hilarity.

Instead a great note about our team members who don't want the attention but revel in the joy they bring to others through their performance on the field! Awesome stuff. Thanks, AJ.

Lots of good guys on this team. I love hearing stories like that. Thanks, Alferd.

On the way to get a burrito should be a staple phrase on allbuffs. Awesome.

Actually, I started just titling it "Game Day Story" and I thought it would look like another thread about the third quarter or something, so I added that on a whim so it wouldn't sound so serious.

Damn you AJ! Time to make a burrito run!

I think we can assume it wasn't Cody...

Ya, because even if they didn't recognize Cody, the player was with his dad, and that would seem to be a dead giveaway ... then again, if you have enough beers, maybe you don't recognize anybody.

Absolutely.

I think I'll preface any scoop I ever get with "On the way to get a burrito..."

On the way to get a burrito, my parents heard some scoop in the stands on Saturday and they told me about it, but they were completely wrong and I told them to let me deal with getting scoop while on the way to getting a burrito.

Yes, all of that was exactly my point (except the beer part...)

When you get scoop, isn't it usually Chinese buffet?

Obviously he is a lineman. :smile2:

Lineman? If he's the subject of a post from AJ, I'd say the odds of him being a kicker are near 100%:smile2:

Hoped you enjoyed your burrito Aric, now go out there and drill those FGs through the middle of the uprights!
