Joel Klatt is a doosh

I am really getting sick of his high-horse. What a pompous asshole. He is trying to belittle all of CJ's arguments. What a ****. oh and he was a horrible player. **** him:bang::pissed:

Joel Klatt is a true buff, he bleeds black and gold. And I would love to have him on the team right now. Who cares if he disagrees with CJ, thats what talk radio hosts do. Stirs the pot a little.

Alfred Williams also rails on CU and Hawkins.

Fight CU, you take that back, you take that back right now.

He was the only QB that brought me winning seasons when I was at CU.

I have no problem with Klatt. Guy is passionate and has always said what he thought needed to be said about the program. Was true during the "scandal" days and is true now.

I love Joel but sometimes he bitches a lot. I know it's part of his job but lately his criticizm, and the way he delivers it, has made me want to tell him "Shut up! Either step up or step aside. Stop bitching unless you are willing to do something about it."

Isn't that hard when his eligibility is exhausted?

joel klatt was awesome. he was the last big 12 caliber qb we had. and he had no weapons to throw to in his last couple years and still looked pretty good. look at how our offense looked in our bowl game in 2005, when klatt was injured. we literally could not move the ball at all. imagine how he would have done if he had this year's group of receivers to throw to.

So, what exactly is he supposed to do, other than what he's doing? He can't get back on the field, he can't, at the current time, get hired in either the football staff or the AD. He's a talk show host guy who, while he may be bitching, is bringing attention and focusing the spotlight on a serious set of deficiencies. Which pretty much is all he can do.

Seriously, what else is he supposed to do?

so what did he say that was so bad?

nothing he said really. just that his ego is sky high and he's a complete tool when asked clarifying questions based on fact by CJ. CJ even told him as much.

it's his delivery and attitude, not his message that grates on me.

I think Klatt is awesome. He's holding the CU admin accountable for the eff-ups that are taking place up there right now. Keep in mind that Klatt was THE GUY during the "scandal". He was the guy all the media went to to get an interview. He was a stand up guy then, and he expects the current crop of talking heads at CU to be stand-up guys as well. I have no problem with it. The guy walked the walk. He can be as smarmy as he wants to be. If I had the platform he has, I'd be doing the exact same thing.

True dat about the scandal, but I don't agree with the way Klatt delivers his criticism. Too often he breaks down into mocking Hawk, complete with imitations and such. He can criticize Hawk all he wants-its warranted, but to mock Hawk in some of the juvenile ways he does, just degrades the program even further and puts it in a worse light than it really is, imo.

I've never heard Klatt on the radio or on TV. Bringing up his name reminds me just how pissed off I am that he wasted a year of eligibility for some garbage time plays against Baylor. How different would Hawkins' first year look with Klatt at QB? We would've had more than 2 wins, I guarantee it. He threw three ****ing passes in the Baylor game in '02.

mother****er :bang:

Pretty sure most posters here mock Hawk as well.. with "the little things", "get your horns out", "brought his lunch pail" posts.. so how are we much different from Klatt?

It may not be different at all, but Klatt's platform seems bigger and more public than allbuffs. I guess I just think that criticism is one thing and constant satire is another. But you're right in a sense, plenty of people on this board go much farther than Klatt does when it comes to mocking Hawk.

I am sure that Klatt would rather not be mocking Hawk, he would much rather simply be refering to Hawk in the past tense and describing postive things happening with the program.

When you have a coach that has lost roughly two out of every three games he has coached and refuses to acknowledge or accept any responsibility then that leaves little option other than to respond negatively. When you have a guy who has sweated and bled for the program seeing a program that is not only failing but also not showing any signs of making the changes needed to improve then he is going to have negative feelings toward the program. I don't hate Hawk, in fact I respect him and think that outside of the job he has done as HC of the Buffs he is a good man. At the same time his continued failures as a coach and his public response to those failures invite negative response.

The vast majority of his bitching is about the coaching and how bad a job the staff is doing. He speaks as if he is the absolute authority on the subject, so if he believes that then I'd like to see him get out there and coach. If he can't get hired, then why doesn't he volunteer to help coach QBs if he feels that passionate about it. I'm just at a point where I'm done hearing what he has to say unless he's going to take some action to back it up.

Klatt is of the opinon that nothing should save Hawkins. Cj seems to want to leave a little wiggle room.

I'm with Klatt.

People need to get real - you just cannot run out there and coach - it is actually against NCAA rules. The rules are very specific about who can coach. Several people have offered to help coach the kickers in the past and have been informed by CU that it was against NCAA rules.

Klatt is taking action that he has available to him. Just like a lot of fans post their opinions on Internet boards. IMO, people like Klatt and Alfred are helping CU by keeping passion and discussion going...the worst thing is when they stop talking about the team - see CSU. If you want to know why Klatt and Alfred (and a lot of others by the way) is that Hawkins burned to the ground comment was taken personally by these guys as an insult and affront to what they felt they contributed to the program.

I watched Alfred Williams play and Joel Klatt is no Alfred Williams. Not by a million miles. Alfred Williams I respect. Joel Klatt strikes me as a local reincarnation of Dennis Miller. "Hey... Everybody... Pay attention to ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Not that you were looking for a real answer, but NCAA doesn't allow "volunteer" coaches since apparently some shady teams would abuse this to overstaff.

Completely agree, he's holding the administration accountable instead of letting them off the hook like so many others have. No way should Hawk have been retained after last season.

Glad I'm not the only one that feels this way. I had nothing but respect for Klatt the QB. Don't care much for Klatt the media personality. If it weren't for CJ I wouldn't listen. Whenever Klatt talks about CU he comes off like a guy with an old score to settle. IMO anyway. I will say that when he gets off his high horse and stops acting like a pompous ass, he and CJ work well together.
