Love this kid. As a junior, he was a co-captain last year with Lex Smith, I believe. I'm too pro-EastHighAngels to be truly objective, but I really like Ezekiel. Always been a standout, IMO.

One of the '07 graduated players mentioned he heard there were a couple other players to watch at East this season, I'll try to track him down for names. I think it was a QB and a running back, but they might not be class of 2011, they are younger.

Featured in a new (premium) Rivals story about the National Underclassmen Combine in Henderson CO this weekend.

Bishop received four more scholarship offers last week.
AZ, ASU, Wyoming, CSU, Portland State ... no offer from CU at this time, but Hagan visited East in the spring evaluation period.

He plans to attend "Friday Night Lights" and will camp at CU this summer and would "prefer" to go to college in the western part of the US, in part to stay near his mom.

"I went to the NIKE Training Combine in California earlier this spring and I ran the 40-yard dash in 4.8-seconds out there so I was like, 'I have to improve on that'," said Bishop, a 5-foot-10, 182-pound safety prospect from Denver (Colo.) East.

Bishop tested out with a 4.60-forty, 4.36-shuttle and 29-inch vertical on Sunday. He also did 11 reps of 185-pounds on the bench press.

I know it's early but I wonder why we haven't offered? He did run a 4.8 fourty at a Cali camp

Bishop's teammate, River Thompson, is also a team captain and was actually the DB MVP at this Colorado NUC. Need to work on a profile on him now, because CU is also in touch with him (no offer yet).

I think this is who the older East graduates were telling me about - I thought it was a running back they were impressed with:

Rivals Ultimate 100 class of 2011.
It looks like River will be class of 2011 graduate.

Bishop has picked up a CU offer.

He was at the Friday Night Lights Elite Camp and impressed the coaches. May be a CU lean at this point. We're definitely in the mix here.

Rivals should have an update article up soon that we can link for everyone.

I think it's to our advantage that East doesn't seem to do a great job of promoting their kids. Thornton was obviously a steal, as Hildreth may be.

This kid looks like he has the makings of a star.

4.5 in the 40 for a linebacker is fantastic. Great measurables. I wonder why he's not higher on anybody's radar.

He's more like a 4.6-4.7 guy based on his NUC result. Also, he's under 6' tall so he's under-sized for LB (even though he plays that at East). CU is recruiting him as a Safety in the Perkins mold. One of the things that's getting Bishop a lot of attention is that he's a big hitter and plays with a mean streak.

"What stood out to me about CU is how the players are all great guys," Bishop said. "I feel like I could learn life lessons from those players. They are great role models. The freshmen there can really look up to the juniors and seniors they have on the team.

"[Buffs' defensive backs] coach Ashley Ambrose is also great..."

Lots of good content in the full premium report if you follow the link. Bishop's still committed to Arizona, but it sounds like he committed to Greg Brown instead of the university. It's not as solid as Arizona would like, imo.

Who is "Dave" Brown? Wasn't that a ****ty QB for the Giants? :smile2:

Thanks for catching that. Rep.

Adam speculated on the BuffaloChips radio show that Bishop committed early to secure his spot at the program that was in the lead at that moment. Since he's taking all his visits, we need to look at this as a soft verbal.

Let me say this:

:smile2: anything is possible.

CU has many things that AZ does not have and cannot have that matter to Zeke.

Let's hope that Brown is coming and is bringing Zeke with him.

That would be a nice first recruiting announcement for the new staff.
