Hagan sounds a little pissed at Speedy.

Apparently, Hagan thinks Speedy isn't hitting the hole and says that Lockridge "is doing it better and, quite frankly, playing ahead of him."

I agree, I think Speedy is a good back but he needs more discipline. The only RB I've ever seen who could freelance and still consistently gain yards was Barry Sanders. Speedy isn't Barry, but he'll be very good if he learns to trust his blockers more.

Stewart has his moments but also tends to take a sidestep before hitting the hole -that is the split second the defense needs to close on him.

5* RB could not get on the field because Speedy was so much better.
Speedy can't hit the holes without sidestep so BLock is better.

The common problem with our running game the last few years has been our running back coach.

The OL and an overweight former 5* primadonna have been the issues with the running game

You forgot that he also ran off Sumler.

I just read the article. Hagan is really harsh on Stewart. He even mentions that Stewart has visions of playing on Sundays, but that if Stewart keeps playing the way he has, he would have no chance. Leveling the kind of criticism Hagan did to the media (albeit Buff Media) about a player may not be the best course of action.

I give Hagan the benefit of the doubt as a coach. He was a great CU player and the run blocking for his backs has been pretty poor since he has been here. If we can get more consistent run blocking then I think these backs will start to look much better and thus Hagan's coaching will look better.

Saw a post somewhere that he is listed at 239lbs now, maybe we should have moved Scott to fullback.

Yeah, I heard when he got to USF they listed him around 260ish. He always looked to be over 240 at CU... and not a muscular 240, more like he ate a few too many donuts 240.

THANK YOU, hagan is no bienemy.

Doesn't the CFL play on Sundays? :smile2:

I'm not on Darian as a coach, per se....but let's make a list of running backs who have excelled under his watch? got better since they signed up?

have produced on Saturday?

Sure, the OL has been an issue....we always read that DH is down on some guy for this or that reason...

Well thanks for making the list without us.

Stewart is what he is. I never understood why so many fans think he's some kind of star. He's an average running back.

And then lets make a list of the backs at cu that have failed to produce/develop under his tutelage. (Is that how you spell that?) Hagan has been a major disappointment.
