CU is in some pretty good company here

That's a great thing for the program.

Both are very deserving, too.

No excuse not to be playing in the postseason this year.

Do we have the depth to hang with the rest of the Big 12 this year? That's been our achilles heel for a while. That, and a lack of an inside game to get some rebounds.

We've got depth.

Regarding the inside game:

We're counting heavily on Harris-Tunks work in the weight room making him a major presence for us defensively and on the boards, Dufault having a better season in a system that suits him better and has him playing in position, and Roberson making a nice contribution as a freshman forward. I think that whatever we get from Eckloff and Mills on the inside will just be a bonus.

It's not great, but it might be good enough with our guards and wings being such an advantage.

It would be nice to see our big men playing around the hoop instead of at the top of the key with their backs to the bucket.

The depth and talent is there to make a tourney run. The only real concern is post play, but it should improve over last year.

FIFY - with the amount of talent this team has I would not be content with an NIT berth - it's March Madness or bust for me..

On the bolded part, I hope Mills gets a RS this season. Like you said anything we get from him will be a bonus, and not sure he'll get much PT anyway. Get him in the weight room and training table to gain some weight, and put another year between him and Harris-Tunks.

i stop short of saying this is an NCAA tournament team. i think we could do it and maybe get some bubble mention (if we win 8-9 in conference)...but, with an unproven coach and player "symbiotic" hard to know in addition to our ongoing post play problems/questions. i still think hosting an NIT game would be a reasonable water-mark for this team. i could live with it on our current trajectory of hopefully getting much stronger as a program. hit the recruiting trail hard as heck with post-season play on our resume....because there has to be life after Burk and Higgins. teams still need to put the biscuit in the basket...and that's going to be a big scoring loss.

We need to make the tournament. NIT doesn't help with recruiting cause the NIT sucks.

And for the icing on the cake, we get to play the 2nd round in Denver. Of course a 2nd-round game in Charlotte would be nice too. :smile2:
