Baylor's LaceDarius Dunn suspended indefinitely

Jeebuz. I feel bad for the victim obviously, but I also feel bad for Dunn. The kid just ruined everything he had going for him. Too bad.

Now she's saying that he didn't hit her?

Interesting. Yesterday, her dad was saying that she snuck up behind him, surprised him, and he threw a punch in self defense not knowing who it was.

It definitely sounds like she's making a money grab. I don't blame her. Dunn goes to jail now, she gets nothing out of it except a broken jaw. She protects him and then gets hush money out of his NBA contract, she makes millions. More power to her. I hope she takes him to the cleaners.

BU is at a real crossroads program-wise. AFAIK, Drew is seen as a mediocre game coach but can obviously recruit like a mutha. For last year's success, there was the strange lack of success in the SR year of Jerrells and the other guy whose name escapes me. They weren't even a tournament team. The big kid who transferred from Michigan made a HUGE difference for BU last year since he could defend the paint and free up their mostly guard based thing (minus the big stiff Josh Lomars). and in previous years, those same guard types could not defend a stop sign....but with the big, freakishly athletic guy from UM those breakdowns on the perimeter weren't automatic easy hoops and they could release guard for BU's crypto-Billy Tubbs offense.

back to Drew, his name was popping up in coach hiring talks at non-lateral move type places after the Elite Eight, in which I thought they had an excellent chance to have beaten Duke but down the stretch K > Drew. Bu should have been up by double digits at halftime. If BU is going to establish itself as a place that can keep Drew, they need to win this year too. Obviously, having Dunn is a big part of that. In this year's Big XII, no reason to think they can't finish in the top 4 at least and they have a sackful of top 150 type players on the bench as FR and Sophs. With Drew, if you read OSU and OU and ATM boards they really think something is fishy going on there....as far as the recruiting success. Don't forget Rick Barnes and Drew's public "disagreement" that was allegedly mutual accusations (people say) of buying recruits. It seems like after the mess that was there before, that would be hard to do....but it's not an uncommon opinion in the South division. Maybe just sour grapes, too.

All that said, expedient for Drew to get Dunn back on the floor. and probably a lot of different way$ to get that done.

Baylor sucks. My best friend from HS went there. Her boyfriend (now husband) had to meet with the Dean of Students & was put on semester's probation for being in her dorm room at 10:35 PM (dorms closed to the opposite sex at 10 PM). But this kind of bullsh*t will be swept under the rug.

F'ing hypocrites. I hate Baylor.

not a fan of Baylor either. couple reasons: 1. one of my buds had two pretty hot twin older sisters who went there, and they were snobby about it. kept "it" on lock down until they married doctors and moved to some ritzy, lame dallas suburb. 2. in HS, I went to a "Come to Baylor" session with a BU rep and he pompously told me "Mick, you would be fortunate to get into BU". This was hilarious since I had already been offered a 1/4 academic scholarship to Vanderbilt which is usually about 20 in the US News rankings while BU is in the 60-80's. And, statistically, I was well above BU's admission criteria. 3. I have a colleague who is a pretty good guy but got 2 degrees at BU and starts too many sentences: "At Baylor,...." like it was Harvard times Stanford. Hilarious.

plus i don't like the Southern Baptist crack pipe much. With all due respect to SB's....I have SB family who are great.

seriously. i used to work for a guy who was Stanford PhD as a researcher. he was truly an idiot. Stanford is a great school but this guy was an unctuous POS who was dumb as a rock who would have got his ass kicked in my PhD program at CU. Moreover, he could work going to Stanford multiple times into about every conversation we had meeting once a week for two semesters. He was also there when Tiger Woods was there and fancied himself a bit of a player but was empty posturing. Picture of Tiger in his office a putter and a ball in the corner (complete prop). I mean, don't play much anymore but I've played golf my entire life. Had a single digit handicap since i was 15...1 or 2 in college......my dad is 60 and still carries about a 5-6 at a real golf course. my grandpa learned to play after WWII from a guy who was a friend of Ben Hogan...and was a single digit handicap for 30 years. This asshat from Stanford is total poser. makes me laugh.

Serves Baylor right. If they play with fire (Drew's shady recruiting shenanigans), they are bound to get burned.

As far as BU's arrogance about academics, they are worse than EVERY Big Ten school. Yeah, including MSU.

So this is basically her story:

He will probably be in the lineup on Saturday, judging by what we know of the Baylor athletic department.
