Since I've seen him in pads (UGA), and out of pads for games so far, I wanted to make sure I knew what his deal was. Plati confirmed for me that he has not been on the field yet and "will most likely redshirt at this point."

I'm guessing they want to red shirt him. I think he needs to decide what or who he wants to be.

Makes lots of sense to redshirt, since we lose McKnight and Patterson next year.

Wish we still had Simas... :bang:

That's a pretty cryptic remark. All I've heard is that he has worked hard in the classroom and also hard on a custody battle for his young son.
I have never felt he didn't have priorities straight, if that's what you are implying.

This year may be great for him to get all that behind and then be able to focus on football if that's what he wants.

I don't know how to answer that. I am pulling for him though. And it does make a ton of sense to RS him this year.

He dresses because he's been an emergency player. If we had a rash of injuries, he would play. Now that we're 1/3 of the way through the season, though, coaches are going to be even more hesitant to pull a redshirt.

I definitely think this is best for Andre. He'll definitely have the time to get his degree now, which will be great for him and his son. He'll also have an opportunity to earn significant playing time next year and that wasn't going to happen this season.

Yeah, the r/s gives him time to focus on school, get his personal situations in order, etc. He traveled a tough path to get here, so he's earned my respect already. I really think this will work out well for him in the long run.

Yeah, what he said

-Tyler Hansen

Tyler's got pulled to become a starter. With Andre, we'd be talking about pulling a shirt to let him play a few downs here and there.

I hope he keeps his redshirt and comes back better than ever next year. I still think he can be a special receiver for CU and we could certainly use him next year. Good luck Andre!

 I know. I still think that other sentence is funny, though.

That would be awesome. Paul Richardson, Andre Simmons, Will Jefferson sound good among others. Celestine going to still be around?

Don't forget Clemmons!
