More info if you follow the link. This kid is a baller.

He's been saying that his recruitment is still wide open and we're the new offer. Let's hope this happens.

Quick hands, commands the court, great vision, nice first step, great handle. Less than ideal height and doesn't play above the rim, but that limitation is probably what's giving us a chance at him. I'd love to see him in black & gold.

Poster on Rivals, (who got the info from Scout :smile2: ), says Larkin will be in Boulder this weekend on an official visit. I grew up a Reds fan and was a huge fan of his Dad. Would be super cool if we could get this kid.

Shane Larkin, the son of former Cincinnati Reds shortstop Barry Larkin, confirmed to BuffaloSportsNews.net this week that he plans to visit Boulder this weekend and check out the Colorado basketball program.

Thanks for the heads up, Scotch.

All I have to say is "Wow!". There are times when I create a profile when I'm thinking "this is a longshot, don't get your hopes up" while I'm typing it up. This was one of those times. This would be a huge get for the program.

In Tad I trust!

This is definitely a pleasant surprise. For only being on the job since April, Boyle and staff are killing it on the recruiting trail.

Agreed. Boyle has been doing an amazing job with recruiting. I feel like Bz did a great job with finding talent, the kids that other programs weren't going too hard after - Sharpe, Burks, etc. However, Boyle seems to be aggressive.

If we have a great year, combined with the optimism over having a new coach, we could haul in a really decent recruiting class. This is exciting. Early signing day isn't too far away.

No word yet on Larkin's visit this past weekend.

His ranking is skyrocketing on Rivals after the summer circuit. He's now their #62 prospect in the country, up from #99.

...I know it's different for CU Bball due to the novelty, but let's not get too excited about a kid raving about his visit just yet. It's great news, yeah, but as a Duke fan, I've read plenty of reviews of official visits where the kids are just ecstatic about a spot. Next thing you know, they're going elsewhere.

None taken.

I thought we would have had a hoops commit by now. We're still in position on a solid group of top 150 guys, though.

Rivals just released some bad news: http://colorado.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1141722

"I picked the Blue Demons because they are in a basketball conference and they fit my style of play perfectly," Larkin told Rivals.com. "I chose because I have a strong relationship with the coaches and they have a good relationship with my parents.

Worse, Larkin has developed a close friendship with Nickerson. Not looking good on that front either.

so who is going to be our first recruit, we seem to be close grabbing a lot of good prospect but can't close the deal.

I was talking to someone recently (I think Abs) who had forgotten that we were in the running for Larkin. With the medical condition, odds are he would have transfered anyway, but still...

Yea, who knows? He would have probably moved back home to Florida if he came here too.

Also, if we landed him, do we get Dinwiddie? I'm not sure. Dinwiddie must have loved the depth chart when seeing all of our seniors leaving.

Larkin/Dinwiddie would have made quite a pair.
