It's not going to be easy. They need to get out of OOC undefeated and go .500 in conference. It is very possible, but I see us losing one or two OOC so we'll have to make up for those with a couple of BIG wins in conference.

...such as @KU finally for the first time in like 25 years??? I think this year we might have a shot at it (our last shot more than likely for the foreseeable future...)

If there was ever a time us Buff fans could use some excitement from the Hoops team, it's now. Nice to see some of these preseason predictions, but making the Big Dance will be very difficult. The poster above who said we can't afford to lose more than 2 games OOC is correct. New Mexico in Vegas will be very difficult, as will Indiana or Northern Iowa. Oregon St in Boulder should be a W, but Georgia on the road could be tricky. The Big 12 is as strong as it's ever been, and unlike football, we aren't getting any favors with KU, KSU and Mizzou performing at such a high level right now. I think the Buffs realistically go 13-2 OOC and 8-8 in league play -- that's 21-10 heading into the Big XII tournament. Right on the bubble, maybe just sneaking in given the strength of the Big XII this season.

I think it says a lot about the strength of the conference that CU has what many consider to be it's best team since Chauncey was here and we "might" make the dance.

Need to start off fast. No stumbles in the OOC. That's not something we don't all know, but I have a flair for stating the obvious.

we need to start beating teams like ISU on the road if we want to have a chance.

I totally agree. There are 3-4 teams in the Big 12 that we should be able to beat on the road. ISU, NU, Tech, A&M. Maybe OU lately since they've been kind of down. We always manage to find ways to screw up and lose those games, though. We should be good enough to win.

OU shouldnt win a single game in the Big 12, they are going to be terrible. They had some really bad offseason problems and lost their good players and their entire coaching staff with exception of the head coach. ISU, NU and Tech should be wins, A&M we will play at home this year, and I think we can win most games at home with exception of the big boys, where I think we can hopefuly pull out a few upsets.

Frankly, the only game CU should lose at home is to KU. And even that should be a dogfight. I think CU can, and should do much better in the Big 12 this year. 8-8 is the baseline expectation, but I think they should be better than that.

Um Dude, you're talking basketball. Did someone hijack your account? :smile2:

i dont' see any reason we can't beat Kansas in the CEC. i think MU and KSU will be better teams.

posted it before, but this IS the year CU wins at the Lloyd Noble Center since people thought Cindy Lauper was cool.

personally, I think that the Morandais, Harrison, Pelle team was our most talented in recent years. They just lacked a true star, like Chauncey.

I actually think the talent overall on this team is great, but our post play is scary for me. Also, our point play is potentially exciting, but unproven. I'm excited, and I expect to be on the bubble. However, this is pretty much the same team we had last year.

Hopefully the play of Shannon Sharpe and some improvement in the front court will prove that statement is untrue.

The thing with Sharpe is that he's adding depth to a pretty solid backcourt already. We need help up front in the worst way. The key to this teams success will be if they can defend and rebound better.
