......can a team run the exact same play successfully in one game????? I think Baylor may have broken the previous record tonight....didn't count, but am going with 32

Let's see....WR Screen, WR Screen, QB Option, WR Screen, WR Screen, QB Option, QB Option, WR Screen, WR Screen...........I'm no football coach, but I think I know what they're going to call next Mr. Hawkins and Mr. Collins

I kept waiting for a DB to jump on one of those screens and score a pick six, sadly it never happened.

I kept watching that...the slot guy was blocking I think Mahnke and the corner was playing 10-11 yds off....WTF? All Night Long.

EVERY SINGLE TIME #1, 2, and 3 were lined up on the same side of the formation, they ran the WR screen to #1. And EVERY TIME, they had 2 guys to block the 2 F'ING GUYS we had out there to cover 3 of theirs and hope that our safety help Waaaaayyyy over the top would come up and make the tackle....That's why it kept working. EVERY SINGLE TIME! We'd be like, oh no, there goes 1,2, and 3 to the right, and we only have 2 guys within 20 yards of the line of scrimmage on that side, here comes the pass. Yep, there it is. Annnnnnnd there's 11 more yards. Awesome....WTF coach! Did we not get enough "film" on this in the first half? How did it continue to work all game?

This was the single most shocking aspect of this game to me. And that's really saying something, because this game also included a "WTF, I've been watching college football my entire life and never seen anything as retarded as going for 2 in the first quarter to get that devastating 8-0 lead" play....

One thing you can count on with Collins... his defense will never abandon his gameplan no matter what transpires.

Ok... the green bar thing hasn't been fixed. I repped that tractor guy in another thread but his green bar is exactly the same as buffnik's. No disrespect to tractor, but that's bs.

I think I counted maybe, maybe 7 different plays by Baylor the whole game.
Why should they do anything else tho? They were killing us with just those few and our coaches made ****ing zero adjustments. The bubble screens and the zone reads felt like I was rewinding it and watching the same thing over and over. We dont have the speed to play the bubble screen like we were aligned, just dont have it.

I'm certain that Baylor had never run those plays before in a game. We were surprised by their play selection and their speed.

Sadly, joking aside you are probably right with this staff. Art Briles is running the same stuff he has since
Stephenville and I played his teams a few times. Formations and plays they ran then looked very familiar to what I saw last night lol. This staff is utterly ****ing hopeless.

It just proves that our coaches staff has not learned anything since 2006. The game last night was Deja Vu from the 2006 CSU game. They ran about 20 bubble screens and we never adjusted. The funny thing is they tried it again later that season and were shut down hard.

Of course, Baylor's great team got more and more practiced with it, with better line-ups on potential tacklers (well, to use that term loosely). Also, Buff defenders kept thinking Baylor would never EVER run that play again. And again. And again. "Just because we didn't stop it ten times, why should they ever want to run it eleven? We'd NEVER do that. In fact, we stop running successful plays immediately."

This is probably one difference between Baylor's idiotic loser coaching staff and Coach Hawkins' genius.

(Boy, I wish I could remember the name of the little hole-in-the-wall Mexican joint in Farmington with the great rellenos. I think it was out on Main, past Broadway, but before Murray.)

I think I know exactly what place you are talking about but the name escapes me.

B-Luke, I'm sure my car and I could find it. Little structure, parking lot (well, 5-6 spaces maybe) on the west side of the shack, and such excellent although simple food. Good ingredients and cooks that know how to use 'em. Simple. Vail to Farmington & Shiprock to Moab, and start all over again. A great loop.

I have no idea why we didn't run a man press with LB dropped a few steps for coverage back up. We could have STILL run a delayed blitz package with the LB if had wanted to from a coverage position, especially with the safety help over the top.

Jimmy Smith sustained a concussion right?

When did this happen? We didn't have any sound in the bar so we couldn't get any updates. ****ing Giants. Go to any other of the thousands bars in this f-in city to watch the game.

I wished they would have figured that **** out. If Jimmy was out, I can understand a little hesitation but we have others with speed in the secondary to step in. I don't know why our coaches aren't teaching play recognition.

Tequilas is pretty good, it's more authentic mexican food. Alot like the place you are talking about but its nicer built. It across from the Best Western Riverwalk. Only 2 places I get mexican food from around here. I used to go to the restraunt you are talking about alot but not in awhile. I used to work pretty close to it.

Think Jimmy got hurt late in the 3rd I wanna say. Even if we recognized the plays, we dont have the speed to get there. If we do get there, our young guys have trouble tackling. We take alot of bad angles too. Our secondary scares the hell out of me next year. We have some guys back there with speed so maybe Im being to harsh. I guess Im saying, we dont have enough speed to play those plays how we were aligned for them. Make sense?

Is this the Mexican food joint that is also a strip joint?

I think it is 'Ta-Tamales'.

Lol, if it was I never knew it. Only strip joint Ive been to around these parts was in Albuquerque. I wouldnt have been caught dead at Foxtails in Farmington, bunch of fat nasties up in there. Think the place got closed down for meth anyway and the fire department burned it down doing some exercise lol.
