Very bizarre tailgate today.

First off, it was kind of a late arriving crowd. But that's not what made it weird.

It's probably right around 2:00 or 2:15-ish. I'm there, Dio is there, I think Greg and his brother are there, and maybe Hugegroove. A lady walks up and says "Which one of you is sackman". I say "I am". She hands me a little gift bag. Being the genius I am, I immediately put two and two together and realize that this is the same lady who dropped off a bucket of Clark Bars last year. I try my best to get a name out of her. She says "just read the note". I'm like "Oh, C'MON, give us SOMETHING!". "Just read the note", she says, and walks away. So I read the note, which I'll relay later. Perhaps I'll scan/post it. Maybe I'll just leave it up to the folks who came to the tailgate, who all read the note. In any event, this was the same lady who brought the Clark bars last year. She is a member of this board, but we don't have much more to go on. But get this - she made us an allbuffs.com banner. It's sweet. So we eventually hang it up, and about 10 minutes after we hang it up, who would walk by but Mike Bohn himself.

Check out Greg's shirt. He's the one on the left. This was epic. Mike was very gracious, and we didn't hassle him at all.

And big thanks to lady annonymous who made us the killer banner! I'll scotch guard that bad boy to keep it safe from the elements, per your instructions.

Awww, SNAP! Great to see the AllBuffs banner, Sacky. I tell you, the chance to meet you guys has me really wanting to see if I can make an escape for of all games, Iowa State.

And now I get to live with listening to Greg brag about Mike seeing his shirt...hope you guys aren't screaming, "C'MON ICE CREAM!" to much today.

Here are my pics:

If Greg posts on this thread, I will rep him just for that. Allsome!

Hilarious that Bohn saw it.
Did he ask where he could get one?

I bet you squealed like a little girl when Bohn walked by.

At the 30 second mark.

Sacky don't eat meat, but he sure likes The Bohn.

Great pictures, Sacky--wish I could have been there. I like the developing intrigue as well.

such a solid gaiter. Funniest thing was probably Sacky trying to force chili on everyone within 50 yards. I'm surprised he let bohn out of his sight without a sales pitch.

Btw, ****ing amazing chili. Looking forward to drinking the rest of that gin next week.

I really, really did NOT want to take all that chili home. I think I did a pretty good job of convincing people that they really NEEDED to have a bowl.

I did try to force some down Mike Bohn's gullett, but he made some excuse about going somewhere else to eat and blah, blah, blah...

I'll keep the gin safe for next week. Along with the mountain of fritos (I think I may have overdone it a bit on the fritos) and the half bottle of Malibu rum.

People call me sissy, but let it be known I have never, and will never, bring Malibu to a tailgate party.

So did Bohn say anything about GIA's shirt?

No. He was very political. Saying stuff like "you guys run a great tailgate", etc. I'm certain he saw the t-shirt. He couldn't miss it. In fact, I think GIA and Bohn spoke to each other briefly. No way Bohn could have missed the shirt.

Are you 100% certain the banner isn't infested with lice and small pox?

Seriously...cool gesture.

the shirt is epic. i want one.

LB, search for the THujone MS Paint thread and there is alink to the site where you can order one of those shirts. That's where GiA got his. I just need to get off my arse and order one too. Apparently THujone runs that biz too, and as he is based here in Austin, GiA got his the next day. So, being in the Metroplex I'm willing to bet you'd be able to get one (and maybe one for UBT) by at least two days if not faster.

I'll get to one of these this year - Hawaii was Yom Kippur, UGA was in Scottsdale helping my oldest kiddo find an apt., Baylor back in Scottsdale moving her in. Did watch both games at the Saddle Ranch with other alums, it was pretty fun.

LOL...the Malibu was my girlfriend's...and the pineapple juice. She left it for anyone else who wanted to "enjoy" it. There were a mountain of frito's left fo sho.

Thanks to the person who brought the PBR...I had a couple "cheap beers". It was also nice to meet Dio and Greg in Austin. I meet at least one new poster each tailgate I attend. I sat with Dio and had some decent football discussion throughout the game. Thanks for getting the tickets!

The chili was pretty darn good too! Thanks! It reminds me (and this is a HUGE compliment because I love it) of Wendy's chili.

Sorry for jetting off so quickly...but my girlfriend's daughter wanted to see the stadium and watch the cheerleaders, since she is a varsity cheerleader in HS. She now is hooked and wants to be a Colorado Buffalo! GO BUFFS!

The tailgate was great, nice to meet all of you guys. I was a little dissappointed i didn't get to see BCS throw up on anyone however...

I finally made it back to my place last night - that drive takes forver. I will post more pictures once my internet is back working (I come home to no cable or internet for some reason, Time Warner sucks...)

I really thought we were gonna win that game...........
