You guys remember the buildup to the Barnett ****-canning?

This is beginning to feel the same way. Come on, Mike. Get it done.

Bohn all but admitted he made a mistake in allowing Ricardo to hang around for his lame duck season..... Lets hope he's too smart to let history repeat itself.

I was just talking to my son. He loves UT, because we are in the middle of Longhorn country. He asked me about how good the Buffs were when Barnett was fired.....my son remembers how great UT and V. Young were that season, and that they killed us in the B12 championship.

I told him that the Buffs went to a decent Florida bowl that year, but Barnett was responsible for lowering our expectations to a lower tier bowl, so he had to go. Now, dumbass Danny has lowered the expectations so low that God knows how bad it is....we are getting beat by Baylor. Are you kidding me?

Someone needs to step us and right the ship.

If you asked me today, knowing what we know, if we made the right move by firing Barnett. My answer would still be yes.
Well, that makes absolutely no sense considering where the program has sunk under Hawkins.

Valdez is correct. The problem is the failed hire coupled with the lack of adminstrative support to fire Hawk last year (or earlier). Barnett needed to go.

Having said that, if offered the option of keeping Barnett versus hiring dbag Danny, we should have stuck with Barnett.

In defense of Barnett - it wasn't all his fault. He was surrounded by alot of squirrelly people. I can honestly say I still think he was kind of a scapegoat, but the infractions occurred on his watch.

gb wasn't perfect, but gb was and is a good football coach. you may not like his style or whatever and his recruiting at the end was horrible (not all his fault, of course), but unlike the current dumbass roaming the sidelines, gb was a pro.

these clowns can't coach a lick.

I agree. GB was a very good football coach. I just think the things that screwed him was his poor recruiting, and his refusal to fire his assistants. And that little scandal thingy. :smile2:

I think if he would've fired/demoted Watson, and brought in a seasoned OC, he would've kept his job. But he refused to admit he was wrong. Ever.

i'm not a huge fan of Mike Bohn, but fair or not Barney was toxic at the time.....he had to go.

it was the right move. hiring Dan was also the right move....even though it turns out not a "good" move.
