I got this idea from the Positive Perception/Paul Richardson thread.
We lost. I know that. And I know you can refute every one of these stats with some ominous horrible contradiction about why CU is sinking or sunk.
But here’s some sunshine gold Kool-aid to sip while you contemplate the rest of the season - because not every position is dwelling in the bottom with Sponge Bob:
At the very least: are we improving and where are we improving?
Baylor game statistics - highlights
Passing Efficiency.
Tyler Hansen comes in at #40.
He had a 75% completion rate. (For comparison, Jordan Wynn comes in a few spots ahead (#33) but with only 64% accuracy.)
Rushing
Rodney Stewart comes in at a respectable position #18 – with 125 yards against Baylor. Two TDs.
However, to be fair, two Baylor players came in just ahead of Speedy:
#12 spot Jay Finley, with 143 yards, also 2 TDs.
# 15 spot goes to QB Robert Griffen with 137 yards rushing.
Receiving
Ryan Deehan shows up in the top 50, tied actually at spot #41 with 7 receptions for 70 yards, or for you math whizzes: 10 yards per carry.
Kickoff Return Average
Whoa... Lookee there, Arthur Jaffee is ranked #7 this week. Dang! #7!
He had only one return against Baylor, but he took it 43 yards.
That's not all:
#24 spot belongs to CU's Travon Patterson, who had one KR for 29 yards.
Punting Average by Yards
Surprised you there with a special teams stat, didn’t I?
Zach Grossnickle quietly amassed a solid 44.5 punting average with 3 punts against Baylor (a team who did not punt the entire game.) He's either the only freshman, or one of very few freshmen listed in the top 50 ncaa football stats.
This puts CU’s guy at the 36th best punter in the country (for this one week.)

I know all these numbers are meaningless when you don't win, but it gives me a little hope that we aren't going downhill... we are somewhere between treading water and pushing a rock upward. Mixed metaphor, but we aren't backsliding at least.
