Phil Steel's mid-season report

I think PS is ass good of an observer of CFB as there is, but he has been wrong about the Buffs. Last year didn't he say they were his pick for most improved? He said it again this year and I'm not seeing it.

Phil forgot to install the Full Retard option for Halkins into his computer

The algorithm does not allow the "full retard" option to go on at any one school for longer than 2.8749 consecutive years, as it has never happened before in the history of college football.

I hope we win 7 and the Seniors get to go to a decent bowl. It is entirely possible, and the Hawkins thing is decided, so there are no divided hopes from here on out. Go Buffs!

I generally like Steele's assessments and his Football Preview. He did write that he thought Hawk should have been fired after last year and that CU actually is the rare team to make his most improved list 2 years in a row.

But you guys are right, his computer doesn't factor in the "Hawkins Befuddling Coaching Decision and Lack of Team Preparation and Gameplanning Matrix."

I think his computer has a medical marijuana card and is self medicating. That thing is...HIGH.

Keep in mind that when he lists his "most improved" teams he's talking strictly in the win column, so even if we only win 6 games this year that would be a 3-game improvement over last year, which would probably put us in the top 19 teams in that category, which is how many teams he has on his most improved list for this year.

This is the problem. This is the first year since about 2004-2005 when we should be fine with our 1's at almost every position. If Mac was coaching this team I believe it would be a 8-10 win season. With Hawkins we'll be lucky to win 5 and my prediction is 4. It is really a shame for the young men on this team who have everything they need to be successful but a clear vision from above.

Phil Steele's forecast for CU-OU:

OU 45
CU 0, zilch, nada...ouch

Good news though, Phil Steele seems to get the Buffs wrong: Predicted upset wins over Baylor and TTech, and both last year and this year had CU as a most improved team. So at least he's 0-4 on those, maybe he'll be wrong this weekend, but I don't see it happening.

Other good news, he's got Solder as a 2nd team all-american so far: Nice work Nate!

Will Phil go for 3 years in a row?
