When did you know Hawkins was not the right guy for the job?

Montana St. should have been the red flag for all of us, but when did you truly go from "this guy is a bit weird, but I think he can coach" to "this guy is in over his head"?

For me, it was toward the end of the 2008 season when he started flip-flopping QBs for the first time, after burning Hansen's redshirt.

Presser after the unl game, the burnt to the ground statements pushed me over.

Colorado State last year.

That is when I started calling for him to be gone. I had given him the bennefit of the doubt until then. Year 4 and to get beat on your own field in that game was disgusting. He went from possible to idigit at that point

iowa state game when you are ahead by 28 and you call a fake punt on your side of the 50

Last year. The CSU game pushed me to the absolute ledge and the Toledo game pushed me over. I remember I had plans both of those nights so I recorded both on DVR and watched every last brutal second of both. And all I had to do was pop on the computer and see the final. But I stayed strong, finished both ... was was damn pissed. That was definitely my own personal breaking point.

Little brother last year. One of the most pathetic performances I have ever seen on a football field.

Was getting frustrated in spring going into 2008 season when they went to the 3rd offense in 3 years.

Lost me at Toledo.

It was a two part process for me.

1. When did I have that naggin voice in the back of my head that Hawk wasn't the guy? October 2008, the KU game.

2. When did I start believeing that voice? After ISU in '09.

I tried, I really did, to be the good soldier, but the guy was an idot as far as coaching goes. Hearing the former players come out now makes me think he isn't a good guy either.

CSU 09 and Toledo. also, the radio show before the NU game last year after it was announced Hawk was retained.....was the absolute final straw.

Montana St worried me, but I let that one go. Last season after the CSU loss I was pissed that we let them come in and beat us (and storm our field), but it was probably Toledo that was the end for me.

I'm just happy to be moving on. It was tiring for me as a fan to deal with each week and now I can look optimistically towards the future.

CSU last year got me boiling, but after Toledo I blew my top and wanted him gone ASAP. I lost all faith and hope in the man after the Toledo loss.

Those are the only two games I watched in my theatre room. I havent watched a football game in there since.

Really wasn't 1 game or moment for me...was more of a culmination of seeing the same boring play calls, the same slow starts, the same lack of progress that doomed us each year.

But I held out hope that he could still change things and turn it around until the CSU then Toledo games last year

this... montana state loss was embarassing... but i chalked it up to having bjax as a starting qb

Didn´t James Cox start Montana State and didn´t B-Jax only become the starter for the second game against CSU?

----

I gave him a pass for 2006 as he really didn´t have much to work with.
2007 was just about what I expected in Year 2, some bumps, but they got to a bowl.
2008, I was disappointed but blamed it on the injuries.
He lost me after one quarter v CSU in 2009.

Colorado State last year.

:stupid:

Yep. I had given him the benefit of the doubt and am glad to say I gave Hawkins a very fair effort of supporting him for 3 years. Last year, I just knew it was never going to happen after the CSU debacle.

CSU last year. Going in to that game, we had everything going for us. Experience at QB (joke), talented stable of running backs, big, strong offensive line, good defensive players - it was all supposedly in place. Everything we needed to reassert ourselves as a national power. The sh*t sandwich we were fed that day opened my eyes to the fraud that is Dan Hawkins.

The realization set in after 58-0 in Mizzou in 2008.

The players were merely empty uniforms in that game.

Then Dan Hawkins decided not to kick a FG, thereby ruining a two-hundred-something game streak whereby CU has avoided being-shut-out streak.

The CSU-Toledo twin meltdown cemented the deal.

When we started trading our players to UCLA for future draft picks, wait, wrong league, you don't get future draft picks...
