So who is our QB for the next 3/4 games?

Might this finally mark the arrival of a power running game? Just need someone to hand the ball off and pass when that 8th guy gets up close.

I am not opposed to Hirschman getting a shot. If he is good, he can prove it, if not, well, then he probably won't need to save that year as PT may be hard to come by in a few years.

Have you guys read the Facebook postings of some of the team? If Cody stays it sounds like there is some bad blood toward him on that team.

Haha, nope, doesnt look like it.

Still could happen but I am thinking burning a redshirt isn't the worst thing in the world as I don't see any QB on the roster now being the starter in 2014. If they are, then the next HC probably isn't the right guy either.

If they burnt Hirschmans redshirt, he could just be redshirted again next year anyway. I would like to see him get a shot. Not sure Cody would put out his best effort given the circumstances, to be quite honest.

With what is coming out there seems to be some indications that Cody was not "voted" to be a Captain either. Wouldn't be surprised now that we know the players were not the ones who voted to remove the names from the jerseys.

Seems there was a lot of misinformation that was put out there over the years. Wonder what else would fit in that category?

Not sure Hirschman would be an automatic redshirt candidate next year....not to bag on Tyler, but I'd hardly say he's a lock on the starting position going forward, as he's not proven that to be the case on the field

The Facebook postings are from former CU players - I highly doubt that anyone on the current team really wants to run to Cody and "lol at him" or whatever one of the guys said. It's going to be awkward as hell in the locker room this week but there's 3 games left - some of the players are still playing for their future careers & others are playing for next year's coach (whomever that will be).
I don't think we'll see any quit on this team. And I also think we'll see Cody behind center.

Can't imagine it'll be anyone but Cody. The guy looks to have an eye toward coaching in the future, and he's not going to quit on the team now if Cabral wants him out there.

I am thinking they do, and the only reason they don't is because of the ramifications they may face.

exactly....

If Dan was really a detriment to the team as much as we think... maybe they DO beat Iowa State & Kansas State.... then leave it all on the line against the Fuskers...

You only play Hirschmann if you really think he gives you a better chance to win than Cody.

most of who were shunned by D2D takign what they are saying as the sentiments of guy guys who are still on the team who danny recruited is stupid. Cody will play and stay in unless he is intentionally throwing the game.

That is what I am afraid about with the OC...because he is best buds with Hawk maybe he calls a horrible game (this time on purpose) to ensure we dont look better without Hawk

Correct. And we will finally get to see how the coaching staff really feels. If Hirschman's RS gets burned, that says really, really bad things about D2 Dan. Worse than we already know, IMO.

You don't know much about the OC if you believe this.

That would be career suicide for a young OC. Do you think he really wants to ruin his career by further hitching his wagon to DII? Come on.

What is so special about Hirshman's redshirt? It only has value if you think he would be the starter in 2014. Chances are if he is the starter in 2014 either he is NFL bound or the new HC has failed to land a blue chip recruit and he probably isn't winning that many games either.

So is this kid an NFL talent? That is what you guys are betting?

Now that Hawk is gone (so he won't be dicking with pulling the kid's RS and then benching him), I don't think there is anything special about Hirschman's RS.

If the coaches think he gives them the best chance to win, they should play him. If not, don't. End of story.

If I'm Hirschman, I'd be pretty pissed off if my redshirt got burned with 3 games left in a meaningless season. I'd rather see Hawkins finish out the season and if he gets hurt, burn Gorman's redshirt and see what he can do....

So again, why are we saving the redshirt? You think he is going to be the best option in 2014? You think the next coach will not be able to get a blue chip QB in here by then that will be "his guy"?

The dude has a chance to play now and the redshirt shouldnt be a roadblock.
