Whats not to like. Nobody knows the situation in Boulder more than him. Plus Bohn would be marginalized to say the least.

No but involved some how. Like a team mentor or any way he can hang out a the facilities and talk with players

mixed. not sure it's the "answer". seems a bit driven by nostalgia. top programs win under different coaches....and we've already gone "back to Mac" once with GB. if Mac is hired, i'm behind it 100% but it's not my first choice scenario.

He hasn't lost any of his charisma, will inspire and fire up everyone around him. Have confidence that he'd bring in some good coaches who can get the job done. He very well respected and has some pull with CU and the community. There is nothing not to like.

I liked Mac as an interim HC or perhaps as the NEW AD.... Regardless, I think we could only benefit from Mac being involved with the team in some active role.

I actually voted "thrilled" but would have preferred a more moderate choice. I don't know if "thrilled" is the word but I am somewhat excited. Intrigued maybe the best adjective.

it would be interesting to see if he still has it. i like him a lot more than calhoun or mcelwain or whichever else retarded coach bohn has in mind

I wouldn't mind an option where Mac comes in and takes over for certain amount of time, with EB as OC and named successor, to give EB some time to 'learn the ropes'.

this poll should have had three choices-

1) Mac
2) Mac w/ EB
3) no Mac

my choice would be #2

I agree there should be some sort of "Coach in waiting" option but there needs to be a contingency built into that:
CU has the final say. If, at the end Mac's tenure, things are going well then the coach in waiting would take over. If things aren't moving in the right direction then CU has the option of not going with the CIW.. We don't want to be in the same position as the last couple of years where we are financially obligated to a coach who isn't successful.

Get him in here to fire up the alumni and get dollars in the door while we search for the guy or Mac grooms the guy. Either way, we will need cash and Mac can bring it.

The dude wrote a 50 page paper on how to get the program back on its feet. The job is his unless a name like Miles could be had.

If it happens, I'm 100% behind it and will be thrilled. But, I won't be crushed if go another route. As long as it's not Logan and preferably not Calhoun.

I can't believe so many of you want him back. I love coach Mac, but he's old and been away from the game for a long time. Can he still coach, I'm sure he'd be better than some. Still, we need to do a thorough national search to find a good coach that will build the program back up within five years. If that ends up being EB, fine. Mac?...that will just prove to me that Bohn isn't doing his job of evaluating people all over the nation and trying to pique the interest of candidates.

not voting. Another opion should be added. I prefer a current big name coach (like Miles) to Mac. But Mac before a unproven BCS coach (like Calhoun).

I think Mac has been out of the game too long. I could accept Mac if Bohn ends up striking out all over the place with some high profile candidates.

Just to add to this, I'm going to assume/hope that Bohn really does do a national search, does try for some top tier candidates. And after that's all been completed, if Mac is the choice, great. I don't want to JUST zero in on Mac immediately as the choice before at least seeing what other realistic options are out there.

There are few real leaders in this world...Mac is one of them. Name me another coach with as much chance of a success at CU.
