I think everybody wants a winner.

Just wanted to know what you guys think should be our next Head Coach

With the financial restraints, I think the odds on favorite is McCartney with a loaded staff and better $$ for the staff.

Voted for option three but after hearing the press conference I think Bohn should take his ass to KU. Don't care if some of what he says is true, you don't throw the organization under the bus like that! Piss poor.

Has he said hes interested in coaching again? 16 years is too long of a time to be out of the coaching ranks. Things have changed dramatically since the early 1990's when he left.

Umm, the choice you forgot to include - a current BCS head coach.

I did include it regarding a BCS coach who might be terminated or leave due to being on the hot seat.

I think this is a premier job but we're not going to have our pick of top BCS coaches.

Personally, I want an asst coach at a BCS level school. A coach that has a proven history of developing talent, and a good track record on the recruiting trail. If I was making the choice, I'd prefer the coach to be from the defensive side of the ball.

A current assistant I like, who has the bonus feature of having run a program, is Dan McCarney. A great recruiter, a defensive minded coach, who has developed talent where ever he's been.

I want EB. I really think he would do great things at CU. Clearly the dude can coach, and it will probably take a HC offer to get him away from the NFL since he turned down Lane Kiffin to be USC's OC.

Can we just hire Mac and get this thing started already? Really the only way he doesnt get the job is if someone like Miles wants the job.

I'm pretty much down for any possibility except NFL coaches, minus EB. NFL coaches just don't seem to ever work out at the college level, save a few exceptions.

The domestic violence stuff will keep him from ever being considered.

He did a pretty good job at Iowa State though.

Probably, and while I remember hearing about that I don't recall the incident directly. But from my weak recollection, that while there was some fire to the case I think it was more an isolated incident and a case of the law being over-protective (and in cases of domestic abuse, I feel they should be) and if the specifics came out I would imagine them not being too bad. I think he should at least be involved in early conversations for a new HC, may not get past round one, but deserves some consideration.

I'm really starting to get intrigued by this possibility. I wouldn't know a good head coach from a poser before they've actually been a head coach, but enough folks keep throwing this name into the ring for what seem like really solid reasons: can coach (AP in Minn), is on the fast track to bigger and better stuff, can recruit, is a Buff...

Also think it would be allsome for CU to hire an African American - not for some crappy pc reason but because of all the above. Then there is the fact that it reminds of the good old days, sitting in the sun in the student section watching Mac's Buffs roll.

EB would be a great hire if we're not going to be able to spend a lot for our next coach.

I think our students, alumni, and fans could get behind this team with a young, energetic staff looking to rebuild this program through strong(er) recruiting and letting the players have fun out there. Would be great if EB came in and assembled a young staff to hit the recruiting trail hard until Signing Day. Maybe we could crack the Top 40. We're going to be the new kid on the block in the Pac-12's toughest division and we need to show the originals we can compete.

Sounds a lot like what UCLA tried to do when he was there.
