November 10, 2010

Dear CU Athletics Stakeholder,

As Buffs we have an opportunity to move the University of Colorado football program and our entire athletic department forward in an unprecedented manner. Our historic move to the Pac-12 in 2011 demands we reenergize our program and we are excited to meet the challenges and opportunities presented within our new league.

Now is the time for us to galvanize support. This effort must be foremost on the minds of every CU alum, Buff Club member, Alumni C Club member, season ticket holder and individual who wants CU to have a winning program. Each of us possesses the ability to motivate and influence others. I urge you to personally share your passion for Your Team the Colorado Buffaloes during this pivotal transition.

You must know that the nation, from potential recruits to possible coaching candidates, is watching the actions of stakeholders like you. We want them to see that our constituents are actively committed to winning and not just talking about it.

We thank you for your ongoing support, as one of our investors in CU Athletics. Your attendance at our many events and athletic contests this season has been exemplary and greatly appreciated by our student-athletes. This is an important time to demonstrate your commitment by continuing to attend our last two home football games.

As we close out the final two months of 2010 our resolve is going to show through with historic, unprecedented support by so many people within the Buff Family. The inaugural season of Pac-12 competition will be filled with great teams at home and on the road. We are planning on establishing our standing as a competitive institution in our new conference and can only accomplish this feat with your continued commitment to excellence on the fields of play and in the classroom.

You can help us galvanize support by asking others to join the Buff Club and purchase season football tickets. Within thirty days we will be sending forth Buff Club renewals for the 2011 football season and your timely response will be most appreciated, and season ticket renewals will follow during the early spring. Please do not hesitate to call on our staff members to assist you in anyway. I have included their numbers below.

Thank you for your support.
Go Buffs!

This is the kind of stuff MB is very good at. Being proactive, firing up the fan base and generating revenue. What scares the crap out of me is that the guy has yet to hire a winner in a major sport hire. He's had many chances, and I'm not just talking about D II, and he has whiffed on every single hire. Some near misses like BZ who bailed ASAP may be unfair to lump in ther, but you'd think he would have hired at least one HC he could point to as a success.

saw it and deleted it rather quickly...
I put Bohn on probation awhile ago and he's not off till we see who's the next HC.

You guys are brutal, the man got got the practice facility started for basketball, got us into the Pac-12, then made sure it was the Pac-12 south, and then canned hawkis in the space of 6 months. Show the program some support for once isntead of always wanting more and putting conditions on everything. The more support they get right now the bigger budgets they'll be willing to risk heading into the pac-12 and the better we'll be long term.

Im not going to buy tickets and resume donating just to see Calhoun or Logan on the sidelines. No thanks.

How about we email him who we think would be the best fit for CU....put our two cents in....?

Logan is a non-issue just listen to mike any time he's asked, the only ones who bring him up time and time again are his buddies in broad casting, surprised you can't see through that.

As for the rest of your approach to this i hope there aren't more people like you out there because this sort of small minded-ness will pretty much guarantee we fail, we are at a transition point now a rush of support will all but cement us taking the program to a higher level financially. Opportunities like this dont often come along, we haven't had one in almost 5 years. If you want CU to succeed, and you want to be heard, invest in things you care about. Sitting there on your hands without tickets, without donating at a transitional point like this is the worst thing you can do to the future of the program.

Boycotting the athletic department and therefore taken money away from them is NO way to make sure we have the money to hire a big time coach, new video boards, new practice facility and certainly not getting any closer to expanding or improving folsom in any way.

Hell even if it is just $100 now with the promise of more to come with the right hire it shows the school a new voice in the crowd and a new place for support, enough people doing that will result in a better hire.

I'm donating money - today. I promised Bohn in the angry emails that I sent him and he didn't read that if he fired Hawk, he would get a check from me the next day.
