Guy on NB reporting EB is a done deal.

Definetly some smoke across various places that this could be true. Bohn has had the past year plus to work the backchannels so reason to think this would be too early.

Now feel free to rip NB, but they are not the only ones leaning toward this.

This guys is adamant that EB is our next coach

From TOS

"I was accused of being a drive by poster, but I will repeat that despite the fact that I dont
often post, I am (for better or worse), on Netbuffs every damn day. Formerly as SF Buff.

I will repeat what I said a few days ago, EB is our next head coach. I have no inside
information about Mac's role, assistants, or specific timing (after Neb, Dec. 1, etc). But, the
agent for EB (agent is an employee of my brother's firm/agency) has already indicated to
CU's "people" (Neinas, or whoever is running things behind the scenes), that EB is
committed to being the coach, and CU has agreed to this (Benson, Bohn, etc). Keep in mind
that EB is under contract currently, but is in a position where his current coach may not be
around much longer. Not to mention the CBA that the NFL faces next year. Vikings last
game is early January, but there is precedent for a coach to finish a role while having
accepted another.

I'm undecided on how I feel about this like many of you. While the nostalgia of EB, Mac, etc
is a feel good, the reality is that EB has never been the CEO, and Mac has not been in the
game for almost 17 years. I do think EB with Mac as an official "mentor" might work, and
would certainly generate some instant excitement and energy (and likely a boost for ticket
sales). As we all know, there are no guarantees in this whole deal, but either way, it is a
done deal.

F&^( em up, F&*% em up, GO CU!!"

Ok, I felt guilty for posting stuff I found on NB but at least there are two of us. I just made the same post as you in another thread.

The people that know what they're talking about are adamant that TOS is FOS.

Edit: That's harsh... the next time a poster at TOS other than a select few who all also frequent legit sites (SD, LHB, HH) are right with scoop will be the first.

Oh well, fun while it lasted... Still lots of things coming together that would make this a no-brainer for EB. The guy may not even have a job next year with the labor problems, then his boss is probably on his way out in the next few weeks.

better or worse than footballcoachscoop.com?

I would actually have to say worse. At least footballcoachscoop used sources, they didn't vet the sources, they were lazy, but not malicious. The people over on TOS just outright make stuff up to get people riled up, just outright malicious.

Can someone please explain to the younger buffs (myself included) what exactly the "baggage" associated with EB includes?

EB threw his bags at a campus parking agent.... something we all wanted to do while we were at dear ol CU....

Is that it?? After hearing the talks about all the "baggage" surrounding him, I was expecting a lot worse. And I agree, who doesn't feel that way towards the campus police?

He also got caught relieving himself on campus and was cited/booted off campus temporarily for that one. That was all cleared up before he came back to coach for Barnett, though.

I believe he got a DWI right before the 2001 season started, called Marcus Houston Marksheee, cusses a lot as a coach and got into some scuffle with a security guard/police officer as a player.

To be fair, Coach Mac's "baggage" (fairly or not) is much more than EB's baggage on the Boulder campus..

LHB asked to send him an email.....

LHB asked to send him an email.....

LHB is solid, I think he tries to vet a lot of the 'scoop' that goes through there. That poster has no credibility though. Last week EB had signed the contract and it was done, this week his reps are telling CU they're interested.

If EB want's an interview he'll get it, but no one thinks the admin is anywhere close to making a decision.
