Saw Brian at church this morning and sat down with him for a few minutes. Great guy. He is on crutches. Says he may have "overdone it" yesterday. Has chronically bad knees from what I would guess, as I've seen him walk.

I told him how much I've enjoyed talking to some of the players who attend there and what great kids they are. You could tell that is important to the man. He cares about people.

Assured me they are focused on their "3 game season" and will get after it to the best of their ability. Said they needed that game bad after what they've been thru.

I think this team has been under a lot of stress to win games since their poor start in 2009, when they almost immediately started playing to save not only Hawk's job, but Denver, Riddle, etc. These kids are almost all close to the staff, as you'd expect. Anybody who has written otherwise hasn't talked to players. They played to win on Saturday, rather than playing not to lose. There's a big difference. Cabral is a calming influence I think and what the Dr. ordered for this situation.

Is he the right answer for our next coach? I have no idea. I say everyone should cool their jets and let's see what happens from here. Can't wait for Saturday....
