Best Guess on new HC announcement

I'm going to say next Wednesday before Thanksgiving and the Nebraska game...or at least I hope its no later than that.

According to Kyle Ringo - the search committee is going to be announced today.

Doubtful that the committee (if there really is one) is going to get the job done in one week.

I'm guessing Nov 30th or Dec 7th. Depends if the coach we are after is coaching in a conference championship or not.

I think Boulder Buff laid out a timetable for this in comparison to recruting weekends before the quiet period, and that gives us 3-4 weeks (?) from now to do this AND still give the new guy time to hit the recruiting trail. I would hope the search committee takes the time to do thorough interviews and a good search, and that the "search" isn't just to amke it look like they came up with someone Bohn had already decided upon.

Committee = slow

depends, i think. basically, they or Bohn have had a year to prepare for this scenario. Frankly, I think some of the reason Hawk was retained (necessary but not sufficient) was they simply weren't ready to make a hire last November. Not one that Bohn, DiStephano, or Benson was willing at short notice to put their name/rep/job on the line with. Hawk was talking 10 wins and everyone was thinking Buffs are off to a fast start with two games on unopposed national TV (marketing coup were it not a national embarrassment on the field)....and at least a better than 6 win team type bowl game. you get the North heavies all at home: KU, MU, NU. Recruit off a bowl game, top 30 class and the ball is rolling. Instead, Hawk tanks and wins 3. Not the scenario they were preparing for.

So, if they've been preparing and laying some groundwork....you might see some quicker action. perhaps.

It will not be before the NU game. My guess is that it will come the week after the CCGs are played. There is not a coach or coordinator that would want that distraction and it would give all parties time to adjust for Bowl games and give the new coach time to ramp up the recruiting bus.
