The season, the Hawkins era, this game, our time in the Big XII.

Now hit the ground running and kick some West Coast ass, Go Buffs! Can´t wait to see the Pac 12 logo on the hallowed Folsom field for our first home game next season.

Yup I'm looking forward to that Pac-12 logo being put on the field and court at the CEC.

Looking forward to a new season under a new coaching staff, but I'm not thrilled about the move to the Pac.

Why are you not happy about this move

What 4dem said for one, plus I'm not much of a west coast guy and would rather be playing the teams we've been playing for the past 50 years or so. I'm a traditionalist. We're not a west coast state so I don't know why everyone wants us to become one.

We're also not a great plains/midwest state. By your argument, we should have gone to the MWC...

Granted, we're kind of in no-man's land when it comes to fitting in perfectly with another BCS conference out there. Hell, we're the only current BCS program in the Mountain time zone. But we border Nebraska, Kansas, and Oklahoma, so we're much close to being a plains state than a west-coast state. I don't understand why so much of our fanbase is thrilled to be leaving our tradition and history behind, but I guess that's today's society.

Now I fully realize that we have more alumni in the Pac-10 footprint than in the Big 12 footprint, the highest percentage of our out-of-state students come from California, blah, blah. So the move makes sense in those regards. I don't like those facts, but that's the way it is and I admit the move makes sense from those standpoints.

We also border Utah and Arizona... :smile2:

The Little 12 is sinking. Glad we got off that ship despite the tradition/history

exactly my point

OK, so I guess we weren't committed to the conference (or core conference) that we've been a member of for 50 or so years.

Forgetting about the monetary aspects for minute, I think that the majority of CU fans would still prefer to go to the Pac than stay in the Big 12, which is what my point was earlier.

I doubt that carolina. We were like the 3rd wheel in the Big XII. Much much better fit for the pac 12

We turned them down in '94 with a 5-4 vote.

Hey, effective as of now, there is no need to respond to anything related to the ****ing red. Matt...please delete all comments from the huskers. It is history. They can join their kind in Big 10 land.

I am for the Pac-12 move, but I hear ya Carolina on history and tradition. Just got back from watching the UA/UO game in terrible PacNW weather and will say that going to a game at Autzen stadium makes you appreciate all of the old-time feel that came with Big-8/12 territory. The entire stadium feels plastic, doesn't feel the least bit historic, and without the proper college football decorum you'd expect from a program on the verge of playing in the title game.

Since we're now officially the junior member of the PAC, it's just something I'll miss about the other programs in our former conference. At least Folsom will rank near the top of the conference as the best stadium for history and tradition.
