Brewster out at Minny...

Post your coaching rumors and news here.

Feel free to start as many why/when/who will replace Hawk threads as you like..

Let the wheel spin and may it bring CU a winner....

Looks like I just got move in on.

Sorry, I was angling more for the coaching changes other than the one we all want to see...I didn't see your CU list until after I posted. I started one of these coaching carousel threads the last couple of years because it gives me something to do between the end of November and Jan.15 since the Buffs don't go bowling under D II Danny....

Anyway, names for the Minny job: Sumlin, Patterson and Vikes AC Leslie Frazier.

Mike Sherman occupies the 2d hottest seat in the B12, right after DII Danny. The aggies are mucho unhappy with Sherm and he could be a casualty...

I really, really like this thread.

It's very well organized and I find it helpful.

Todd Dodge out at UNT....as if anybody cares...

There is actually some chatter about Turner Gill getting the hook after the 55-7 pasting by Baylor and the 59-7 shelling by KjSU...how epic would that be for TG to get run after one year at a friggin' BB school?

Bill Lynch at Indiana is getting heat too...

A&M is stuck with Sherman for a while. They cannot afford to fire him with so many years left on his contract and also hire a new guy. They have a lot of money, but their AD is still going through some tough times.

Kansas really cannot fire Gill either, even if they want to. Not many quality coaches are going to want to take a job at a BB school that has fired two coaches in two years.

Jim Leavitt a name UNT is considering...he could slap some sense into the Mean Green...

Mike Locksley about done in NM....

Bubba Cunningham the favorite to take over at KU...sorry, folks, MB isn't going anywhere IMO...

Belotti "would listen" if approached about Minny job...what about CU?

Dennis the Menace Erickson on the hot seat in Tempe (pun intended). The 63 year old renegade is 22-22 at ASU, 3-4 this year with two W's against FCS teams. ASU may give him his gold watch, a fifth of scotch and replace him.

Under the it could be worse category, another Pac 12 school, Wazzu may give the axe to Paul Wulff, a 4-28 record makes D II look like he is alomst legit...

So three Pac 12 teams could be breaking in new staffs...should be interesting.

Also Jeff "Don't tell me I can't go to that interview" Jagodzinski on the short list at Minny.

Meanwhile, D II limps along...

At this point, we want the hot seats to simmer down around the country, which will limit the number of jobs and give CU a better shot at landing the best possible.

Coaches at Illinois and Arizona State appear safe now, but Michigan may be creeping into the race. Wazzu's seat is in flames, but CU is a way better job. Paterno may retire as well.

That is a great point. I agree the Wazzu and Penn St. jobs are likely to be open. If MU joins in, I really don't see them, or PSU reaching for the same candidates as CU. MU is pretty much locked on to Harbaugh from what I understand and PSU probably has been updating a list of East Coast guys to replace Paterno since the Nixon Administration.

The interesting part of the gig will be that CU will be going head to head with Wazzu and Stanford (if Harbaugh leaves).

I still think Illinois and ASU could be in the mix too.

UNM and Indiana may end up being in play too, but as with UM and PSU, I don't think there will be that much overlap where CU's coaching search is concerned.

What about Rich Rod? Is he gone after this year?

I'm sure that it has a lot to do with how he finishes out the season. They were 5-0 but have now lost 3 in a row and have remaining games against Illinois, Purdue, Wisconsin, and Ohio State. I'm guessing if he doesn't win at least 2 of those then there's gonna alot of people calling for his head, and one of those 2 wins would probably have to come against the Buckeyes.

Dan Mullen and Randy Edsall being thrown around as potential Minny HC's..

Gus Malzahn says thanks, but no thanks, to CU...

Belotti says no thanks also...

Idaho St. cans their HC...

UL-Lafayette will probably can their HC and maybe go after Ed Orgeron....

EDIT: Idaho St. has a deal with Mike Kramer, former Mont. St. HC to take over...

Scott Downing fired at U Northern Colorado....

Pretty quiet on the carousel...that is good for CU.

Right now only Minny is a comparable job. Rich Rod at Micchigam and Wullf at WAzzu may still get the axe, but Zooker at Ill and Erickson at ASU appear to be safe. CU will be one of the plum jobs available....

Ball St. and Texas St. can their respective coaches...

Norm Chow may be removed from fUCLA as OC...

Dan McCarney on the short list at UNT....

Wow. A vacant WVU slot creates real competition for CU.

I also wish Miami would have held on to Shannon another year. we probably slot one lower than if UM wasn't also in the market. not entirely Randy's fault Jacory Harris was the 2nd most overrated pre-season QB behind J. Johnson at ATM.
