Airing on ESPN right now as part of their 30-for-30 series. It started at 7 MST but I urge you to tune in if you get a chance, I found it to be an incredibly interesting story. It's amazing how good he was in high school and the one year of college ball he played. It's just a shame he had injury problems and probably just got into the wrong situation at OU.

They have repeated it a number of times and probably will again.

I agree with you that it is a very interesting program. Deals pretty honestly with the situation at Oklahoma, the recruiting stuff that happened, the doublewide trailer "showing up" at his mothers place.

I get the impressin from the show that this was a guy who was given an increadable amount of god given talent, and he did work hard to use it and to get it back so he could play some in the NFL. That all said at heart he he seems much happier as a regular guy with a license to drive a truck, a regular job, and a life out of the spotlight.

Some might consider the ending sad considering that had he stayed healthy and had someone he could trust with his money and career he could have been wealthy but I think he is more content not to have that stuff and is more content with what he turned out to be.

The footage is pretty undeniable, he was a man amongst boys. Recommend for everyone. Makes Darrell Scott look like He Hate Me.

The documentary states that he was recruited by essentially every major college - I wonder if/how Mac went after him.

Yes it has been on before and probably will be again at some point. I found it sad that things never worked out for him due to a few different reasons, injuries being one. You get the impression from watching this that he was never in top shape, was overweight quite often, and he seemed confused and didn't have his head in the game for whatever reason. I also think he got some bad advice from that Ken Fairley guy, and Marcus even admitted later in the show that he should've stayed at OU. Switzer's handling of Marcus was also odd I thought, the way he was so critical of him, especially after that incredible performance in the Fiesta Bowl.

What amazed me most about this story is how good he was his freshman year despite hardly playing in the first 3 games. You started to get the impression that he was going to be an over-hyped recruit but then he just seemed to flip a switch and turned it on when they started playing him more. And that Fiesta Bowl performance was incredible - 249 yards against the nation's top run defense and that's with getting banged up a few times during the game, and all in about 1 half of action.
