What are your expectations for new coach?

I would love to expect to be among the elite in the country and be contending for national titles every year, but with our administration, money and facilities that is a pipe dream.

I think realistic expectations for CU would be to be a bowl eligible team every year (average 8 wins per year), contend for south title every year, contend for conference title every few years, and occasional noise for national title contenders. We should also be able to have recruiting classes ranked anywhere from #15-40 on a regular basis.

Thoughts?

This is probably overly optimistic but ideally it would go something like this:

Year 1: Doesn't matter...this is a free pass
Year 2: Bowl berth of any sort
Year 3: Upper - tier bowl berth/Top 3 finish in conference
Year 4: Playing in conference championship game/BCS berth?

What the new coach needs to do is have winning seasons and then we can expect a Pac 12 CCG berth down the road but we have to start going to bowl games again. That nine game conference schedule could be brutal for us if we have injuries or problems with the coaching staff like we have seen the last couple of years.

I agree with what you wrote Leash. Spot on. However, I think it will take us a while to get back there. We need a minimum of two good recruiting classes to get the quality depth needed to get near 8 wins.

The new coach will have his hands full, but I don't think a bowl game is completely out of the realm of possibility next year. After that we probably fall off the radar for 1-3 yrs while holes left from hawk's last few classes are getting filled in (burned to the GROUND). Starting about yr 4 or 5, I expect (demand) a winning conference record every season, and a bowl game every year.

I expect 14-0 every year, but since we get an extra game next year, 15-0. Until I'm wrong, I'm right.

To change the fan base's thing from those expectations to being ranked in the top 25 every week and a BCS bowl and win the PAC12 a couple times each decade.

No reason why this can't be done, and if the current guy isn't doing that or clearly on his way to doing that, then it is time to let someone else try.

Oh and I do give a free pass for the first year, but expect gradual improvement each year while he gets his players. About 3 years in my above expectations set in.

I think it would be reasonable for us to be a program like Wisconsin. Sweet 16 in basketball every few years, tourney 7 out of 10 years. And in football worst season is 7 wins.

Bummer that the Pac 12 has ****ty bowl tie-ins. Holiday Bowl for the #2, Sun Bowl for #3?

We could maybe go 7-2 in conference, finish 4th, and land in the Las Vegas bowl against Nevada. Seems pretty lame. Here's hoping that the conference is able to strengthen its bowls.

i think the Alamo Bowl is now the Pac #2, Holiday #3. they switched and the Big Ten pulled out of the Alamo. something like that.

Expectations are to be in the top 25 at all times and be a threat to win the conference every year.

I expect perfection from the new HC and staff from day one and to get better from there.

Hell. I just want something to look forward to and something to cheer for in the fall.
