2011 Pac-12 Outlook: Running Backs

There is the list of RBs who earned over 1,000 yards for the season for the Pac-12 who are coming back next season plus players who are close to the 1,000 yd mark. (* denotes that player's season is incomplete)

*LaMicheal James (UO) 1,548 yds and 19 TDs
Rodney Stewart (CU) 1,318 yds and 10 TDs
*Jacquizz Rodgers (OSU) 1,097 yds and 14 TDs
Shane Veeren (Cal) 1,167 yds and 13 TDs
*Johnathan Franklin (UCLA) 1,018 yds and 7 TDs
*Chris Polk (UW) 954 yds and 6 TDs
*Stepfan Taylor (S) 1,023 yds and 15 TDs
*Marc Tyler (USC) 868 yds and 9 TDs

I don't know how many OL starters are coming back but I can tell you that four out of five OL starters (might be three depending on Ryan Miller) are due back for the Buffs plus the starting TE will be back as well.

The Ducks will lose maybe four OL starters after this season.
The Utes will lose both top RBs after this season. I don't know about their OL.

*still working on collecting more information on the other Pac-12 teams*

Calhoun has never had to recruit at the BCS level, what makes you think he can get it done...oh I'm sorry, I must have stumbled in here by mistake - can you point me to the thread about potential coaching candidates?

You are on to something here...coaches and RBs...since four OL starters are back next season, will the Buffs need a RB coach next season as that CU OL beats up on opposing Pac-12 defenses?

speedy needs about 1300 yards to break scooters all time rushing record at CU...

i like seeing a buff in the pac-12 brings a smile to my face

I will admit that I was a doubter as recently as this season. But Speedy is the truth. Kid has a knack for generating yards.

Losing Solder hurts, but we do have Jack Harris, Bryce Givens, and possibly Ryan Miller waiting to fill in that spot. TNSFR Eric Richter can take over at LG for Miller.

Maybe he'll do it with Scooter coaching him

You don't say!!!!!!!!!!!

Unlike Barnett leaving the cupboard bare for Hawkins, Hawkins isn't leaving the cupboard bare for the next coach. I can't see any Pac-12 defense having the physical defenses that NU and OU had. I haven't had a chance to look at the other Pac-12 defensive personnel just yet but I'm getting to work on that but you have to like CU's chances for a winning season next season especially games against UW, WSU, and UCLA.

The pac 10 has some very physical defenses. Trust me, the competition is not going to get any easier.

What on earth points to us having a winning season next year??

Cal killed us and their players were calling us soft after the game, and they finished 5-7.
