Embree-Not so fast

Now the Ticket is saying CJ said Henderson's report is not true. Embree has not been offered the job.

:popcorn:

Personally I think that's great news. Rather have EB than JE.

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

University of Colorado public relations strike again.

God I hope this is true. Im with the people saying that Bienemy is the hire here. The programs status has fallen greatly, they need a coach with the ability to recruit, who has some name presence. Former NFL running back (I know Embree had a cup of coffee), with a sweet nickname (Sleeping with - not scooter), is a lot sexier of a hire than the Redskins TE coach.

Let's see. For the last coaching hire CU did, we went for the sexy candidate. Say what you will about Hawkins in hindsight but he was one of, if not the, hottest coaching prospect in the country when CU hired him. I'm willing to give Bienemy, Embree or even McElwain a shot. The HC needs to be able to close the deal with recruits. I have no clue if any of these guys can do that or not. I'm just not ready to call any hire a bust before it's even happened.

Agreed.

Can't we all agree that it's mind boggling that Hawkins was SO unsuccessful here? I was VERY excited, he was a VERY sexy pick at the time, and that he failed so tremendously here while Boise State continues to be a power is still mystifying to me.

I don't think that Bienemy is even a B-list hire, none of the teams with openings are interviewing him. Miami is a glamor job and they haven't called him, neither has Indiana which is in the Big-10 and will be able to attract a good coach this time around.

Embree is an F-list hire, if CU hadn't offered him the job, no one else would have given him a sniff.

Does anyone really believe anything the Post prints?

A classic example of the reason why newspapers are dying, right there.

Well he is like 40something years old...give him a break.

Agreed on your first point.

I really don't know what you mean by a-list or b-list or f-list or whatever and I don't think the buzz around a coach makes or breaks the hire. How much buzz was there around Mac back in 81? I've pointed out before that Mike Tomlin wasn't considered an a-list candidate when the Steelers hired him. Pete Carroll was USC fourth choice when they hired him and I doubt he was considered a-list either. It's all a crap shoot and I'll support whoever they hire.

I just really wish Mac would have kept his damn mouth shut. I love the guy but that quote about setting the table for a black man looks horrible and is a PR nightmare!!

i wonder what the actual context for that statement was.....just seems strange. We DID have Ricardo Patton coaching a revenue sport, Austin Daniels was the first women's soccer coach, it's not like we are Texas in the 60's with all-white team and no record of so-called minority hires.
