Embree Recruiting prowess - Better than you think it is

To be clear: Embree/EB were both not in my top 5 as choices. However, Credit where credit is due. And there is a big misconception on the board about the difference between EB and JE on recruiting prowess.

Notable players JE recruited to Colorado: Daniel Graham, Tyler Brayton, Andre Gurode, Victor Rogers, Cedric Cormier, Justin Bannon, Mark Fenton, Sean Tufts, Hannibal Navies, Donald Strickland, Damen Wheeler, Rashidi Barnes, and Ben Kelly.

Embree left in 2002. That was 8 years ago.

Only 15 Buffs are currently in the NFL. Embree recruited 5 of them to CU, even though he left 8 years ago. Coached a few of them, including Dan Graham. And quite a few of the others on this list were in the NFL for a while, some a long time.

So ya, JE can recruit. 8 years after he left, he is credited for 33% of the Buffs in the NFL. That's amazing if you ask me.

Keep up the good work. I'm solidly behind Embree right now.

As for UCLA, he got Marcedes Lewis (was a big time TE recruit back then) and Jones-Drew too. Who did EB get to come to UCLA?

I thought Jones-Drew committed to CU because of EB and then followed him to UCLA?

Jones-Drew went to UCLA because of EB not Embree.

I like where Embree recruited too. Colorado, Ga. and So Cal.

He has coached several top players, including all-Big Eight performer Christian Fauria, an 11-year NFL veteran, now with the National Football League's Super Bowl champion New England Patriots, and Matt Lepsis, a nine-year NFL veteran, now starting at left tackle for the Denver Broncos. Several others have gone on to the NFL, including Daniel Graham of the Patriots, who he tutored his sophomore and junior seasons and watched break several of his own school records in 2001.

RECRUITING RESPONSIBILITIES -- Local / California: Los Angeles, Long Beach, Oakland area; National: Colorado, Georgia and tight ends.
