Hawk was hired and most were very happy with the hire and did think it was a home run, including me.

JE is now the solid leader (so says the net) and most are pissed/not excited/meh.

could we be as wrong on JE as we were in hawk?

????

Profit.

just tossing that out there. :smile2:

i know i will take the attitude of "ask me in 2 years".

There's about a 40-50% chance of any HC hiring working out regardless of background or homework. Missed on the last one, we're due! :-D

Look at the Darrell Scott thread from Feb 2008. People were like who the hell is Rodney Stewart? We already got Polk and Scott. Why go after another RB?

It took OU 4 hires, it took Nebraska 3 hires, USC 3 or 4 before Carroll, Miami is on 2nd, Michigan is about to be on 3rd, took Texas 3 or 4. Even good programs strike out on "proven" coaches. Embree is young, and this is his dream job. We don't know what he can bring. Might be a flop, might be the next Nick Saban.

4dem thinking? That's a slippery slope.

i was cooking dinner when i came up with that pearl of wisdom!

pork chops seared in a cast iron skillet and finished with the broiler over brown rice and wilted spinich with baby carrots, garlic and turkey bacon.

No wonder Les Miles didn't come here. I've been eating corndogs for the last month.

that is the problem. if les wanted to come here due to his frustration with corn dog nation, going to a new corn dog nation would not be smart. you went in the wrong direction, my friend. if a man wants to leave the corn dog, you dont offer him another one.

Damn. My bad.

Mike Bohn's new hiring strategy: find out what the internet message boards want and then do the opposite.

Might be a good idea. Especially if he reads this site.
