Lamb's QB Ranieri transferring

Interesting footnote, I thought he was supposed to be the "next big thing" up there.

CSU quarterback Nico Ranieri, frustrated that he never got a chance to show what he could do in a game this season, said Friday he will transfer to a junior college at the end of the semester and play there for a year before moving on to another Football Bowl Subdivision program.

Their season wasn't stellar (the Rams (3-9, 2-6 Mountain West Conference), but they stuck with true freshman Pete Thomas as QB until the bitter end.

Ranieri was the Central Florida Class 6A player of the year as a high school senior.

If Thomas gets injured they're screwed. Their other back up Klay Kubiak isn't returning as well

I wasn't overly impressed with Pete Thomas when I saw him. He looked 'fine' I guess. Will be curious to see how much he improves. They're gonna need to fix their OLine to get him some protection however.

Someone forgot to give that memo to Tyler

yikes no kidding, he better heal up and start throwing around with richardson ASAP

as for ranieri... the kid is taking a risk by transferring to a JuCo but he'd essentially end his career by staying at CSU, maybe it's not that much of a risk after all...
