I don't have twitter but I get the idea... A few weeks ago I noticed that a lot (or at least several) of our Buffs have their posts on the home page here. Anyway, some of them are OK but for some others I think Embree or someone in the AD needs to tell these guys that stuff they post on there gets out and is seen by a lot of people.

It also worries me too that the people typing out those thoughts are getting passing grades in classes at CU, or maybe they aren't and we are in for some news about these guys not making grades next year.

Just off the top of my head the Mobley and PaulRichardson ones come to mind.

Yeah, Personally I don't really care what they type but I can see someone on campus or in the media getting pissed and making a big deal out of it if they type the wrong thing. From some stuff they type though it kind of makes me wonder if they realize how large their audience can be.

I guess it doesn't bother me because I don't think anything should be censored and you should be able to say what you feel, I understand your point though with the over sensitive media.

Yeah, I agree but when you take a scholarship and are in their situation they now become the face of a University in a way. Just seems like an easy way for one of them to get themselves into something they didn't intend to.

I have said before and I will say it again: the twitter feed on the front page shouldn't be there, IMO, for a variety of reasons.

This Twitter ****e is going to lead to NCAA infractions I bet sooner than we all expect. It is DOOM! DOOM! I tell ya!

This twitter feed dealio is gonna be gone sooner rather than later. Embrrrito aint gonna like the players doing it or I miss my guess.

However, if they do it, the whole internet can see it. I'm sure ringo follows all of them. So ya, I don't worry about the front page.

You are right, most of those players are followed by and or follow every reporter in town. Hell most were follow/following Hawk.

The Junta has discussed changing the front page twitter feed to give you tweets from the Buff beat writers, Pac-12 and CU official tweets, and tweets from our coaches. Thoughts?

I enjoy reading the players' Twitter feeds but I can certainly understand the concerns...perhaps the feed could be moved to a place where only club members could see it? Therefore that way it would be out of the public eye...

They'd only be moved from our front page they are still publicly available dozens if not hundreds of places, but moving them could easily be done.

As Snow said, Ringo follows them all and unless they protect their accounts it´s there for everyone to see.

As for keeping or removing them, makes no difference to me as I don´t even follow them myself.

They would probably say the same thing about 9/10s of the stuff posted on here.

I don't care because typically I can't make heads or tails of what these guys write.

I am not saying to get rid of the Twitter stuff on the home page, what I am saying is that someone needs to talk to these guys and let them know that talking about women, cursing, and using just plain out bad grammer can't continue. They need to pretend that when they are typing out their status/tweets, they are sitting in front of a camera with the CU logo behind them and everything they say is being broadcasted on Channel 9. If it isn't appropriate there, then it probably reflects badly on the team and them.

Just removing it from the front page doesn't solve the problem, got to go to the source on this one.

Here's the thing, I think... When people think of following twitter feeds of celebrities, athletes, etc., they tend to think of a PR tool, where people are using it to keep in contact with fans, followers, etc. That's what we thought when we put them up on the front page. But these guys are pretty obviously using it to talk back and forth with friends, teammates and family. They aren't tweeting **** they intend to share with the world, they're tweeting **** for their friends and family. They should understand that the rest of us can track it, but they aren't looking at it that way. And from what I've seen of it, I really don't see any reason to be following them, for the most part. Following them on the football field is one thing. Tracking their personal life is something a whole lot creepier...

Do you want my list of links to their Facebook pages?

btw, they all think I'm an 18 year old bikini model with low self esteem and daddy issues so I ask that you don't blow my cover.

**** TWITTER,I don't care or need to know what players are thinking about in their spare time.
