Team record is 5-3, a 3 game win streak, and 2 home games coming up that will have CU as heavy favorites (Citadel & Longwood).

How do you see this season playing out for CU?

Before the season and before the loss of Harris-Tunks I was thinking NCAA bid, but now I'm going with NIT.

Lack of any inside game spells DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM in the Big XII. Tad will have them playing better, but the record might not show it. :pissed3:

we lose 2/3 of our big 12 games... no NIT.

That would be 5-11 in the conference or 6-10.

Right now, we're at 5-3 with the rest of our non-conference schedule: Citadel, Longwood, New Mexico (in Vegas), Indiana or N Iowa (in Vegas), Maryland-Eastern Shore, at Cal State Bakersfield, and Western New Mexico.

I can't see us finishing the non-con any worse than 10-5. I also think we should at least match last season's 6-10 mark in the Big 12. That's 16-15 heading into the Big 12 Tourney, which would guarantee at least a .500 record and an NIT bid.

I'm predicting 18-13 heading into the Big 12 Tourney and a NIT bid.

I think we could squeak into the NIT. losing to Georgia and San Fran, could hurt us though.

I was really high on this team preseason, but we have some real problems. Our defense continues to be suspect (especially from guys like Burks) and the loss of Harris-Tunks is major. Still a long way to go before big 12 play, but I am not too optimistic at the moment.

I really hope they prove me wrong.

I think the team is inconsistent. Against the Rams they played pretty hard D but could not put the ball in the bucket for almost 1/2 of the first half. At times they also seem to stand around on the offensive end as well. Not much motion which I think Tad will address as he gets everyone bought into and used to his system. Lack of size in the middle is going to hurt this team but I do see them playing hard for Boyle.

they are in the top 50 in the nation in scoring offense, our problems are all defensive and rebounding.

7-9 in conference.

KSU and MU resurgent are not so good for us this year. I sure Mike Anderson was our coach.

I love that stuff. But, I was a closet Billy Tubbs fan, too. love the full court game.

those losses to SF and Harvard ended any hopes for the big dance unless this team exceeds expectations in conference play by a few games. i don't see that happening since we have very little presence in the post, along with no reason to believe this team won't struggle on the road (again). still, no reason not to rack up some conf. wins against the TT, ISU, OU and Nebraskas of the league in addition to grabbing a couple home upsets. 18 wins should get us in the NIT and I don't think that's out of reach yet.

Definitely would be nice to get a win against a solid New Mexico team in Vegas in a couple weeks

Going with NIT bid now. I think there will be and have been some growing pains with getting the team on the same page as what Boyle wants. Obviously losing Harris-Tunks was huge. But I think our guards could present some matchup problems and assuming the D continues to improve we'll be a team that will at least be a tough matchup for a number of teams on our schedule. Hopefully we can start out the Big 12 schedule with a few big wins at home, building the crowds for the latter part of the season and hopefully making CEC a really tough place to play.

The defense, at least positioning and where to be, will catch up but this team worries me in that they only have one natural rebounder (Roberson) and some guys that don't seem to want to do the work to rebound. That will be where Boyle will need to improve when recruiting for this team in the future.
