TE Harold Mobley moving to QB?

JRK1212

He tweeted this today:

so theres 2 changes in my college football status- Harold Mobley :Tight End #44 is now Harold Mobley : Quarterback # 4.....hmu for the deets (http://twitter.com/big_gumba4)

Im not sure how reliable tweets are. I'll wait for actual conformation, but assuming its true, while we need depth at QB the move would only make sense if we were going to run a spread/option type of offense. In Highschool he split time between QB and TE and was recruted as an "athlete". He is 6'4 230 and ran a 4.55 40 so he would probably make a great runner but his passing number in Highschool were nothing special (81-of-169 for 1,523 yards and 12 touchdowns). Maybe he would be used in "wildcat" packages.

Seems pretty weird since we don't even have a QB coach in place, but hey whatever works JE. I thought the Will Jeff to RB was a fail in the making, but that worked pretty well.

I still contend that maiva would have made for one hell of a fullback. For Serious. FACT.

Seeing this as only a spring thing. My guess is he will return as a wideout or TE after the spring. Possible a trick play or two.

And on the tweeting topic, what if Embree brewing a suprise package for the fall and now twitter foiled the plan?

I'd argue that if opposing coaches are monitoring our players tweets, we've already won the battle.

So, basically we need a big physical QB who is athletic enough to play TE but we hope can add depth and another element to our offense?

...Clark Evans, where are you now?
