What are we doing, recruiting wise, at QB and RB now? These are two positions that I feel we need to upgrade, or at least add some depth, and we have recently lost two QB commits and one RB commit. So what's the plan? Who are we targeting that we think are better than the guys we just lost, and what's the liklihood of landing the guys we're after?

Thanks in advance.

For RB, we dropped someone that Houston didn't even see as a RB and will move to safety. Don't worry here. EB has a line on a couple guys.

For QB, I don't know. We want an NFL style QB. If he can run, great, but he needs to be able to make all the throws from the pocket. It's late to find a QB, so this one will be a nail biter.

Uh, know you can't spill, so can we play 20 questions?

Guess already id'd as on the radar?

Buffnik is going on faith here I think. There's really been nothing I've seen to suggest we have any seriously interested running backs, but I think it's a safe bet that EB can pull one that is at least a complement to what we have.

QB is a far bigger issue. No QB coach on staff yet.

I trust Nik because of his standing at rivals.com. Saying that, we need to announce a QB coach badly or no one is going to come to CU that's worth a damn.

Strange first 2 weeks for sure. I'm thinking eb has a guy lined up but this qb thing? How about the best qb available instead of dropping players if they aren't tom brady. Embree is holding out on NFL coaches and is rolling the dice by expecting to get better players come signing day. Hope it works out. It's been what 2-3 weeks? Embree has a plan and it's been well thought out, just hope he gets the staff finalized soon, cu is running out of players to recruit.

It was completely unrealistic to think that the new coaching staff would step in and the recruits would come pounding down the doors. Chances are that this recruiting season is more-or-less going to be a wash. I'm hoping for a few surprises but I'm certainly not going to judge this staff on how this recruiting season goes. It's good that there aren't many scholies available.

I resemble that remark

Embo better get Nick the quick a jumprope for Christmas.

Well, looking on the brightest side of the eclipsing moon...

I'd say it's going to be tremendously satisfying when Embree pulls some last minute commits away from other schools at the last, very last, nail-biting seconds of the recruiting period.

Seatbelts fastened? When the dead period is over, this is going to be a very fast, and exciting ride. You can scream dooooom the whole way, or hang on and enjoy it.

We didn't lose much at RB. At all.

QB is the bigger and more important question.

It reminds me of how our old buddy commented once that the program had been burned to the ground. Turns out he was a self-fulfilling prophet and didn't know it at least where recruiting was concerned. I have a hope that Embo and staff can pull a rabbit out of the hat and bring in 12 to 14 promising recruits. I think our best chance at a quality QB will be to snag one from somebody else that may be overloaded.

Regarding running backs, other than "Speedy" I've was never really impressed with Hawks backs. Losing the Tejas kid is a shame because he really seemed to want to be a Buff. Other than that who knows whether or not he would have been all that good. I think the Buffs will sign a good back this cycle that will fit the offense they run quite well.
