Final tune up before the Big 12 schedule starts. Buffs enter the game at 10-4. Last year, the Buffs won 9 game in the non-conference schedule and two of those were against D2 opponents. Coach Boyle added this game to the schedule very late in the process so there wouldn't be a week's layoff between the CS-Bakersfield game and the B12 opener with Mizzou.

This game won't count toward CU's RPI, but it does count in the win column when the NIT decides on bids. And that tournament does not accept teams with losing records.

reading is fun

Still, Why are we playing a D2 school again? My question is still not answered

Are you telling me that Coppin State or Longwood is too hard of a team that we cannot pad or record with teams like that? It doesnt make any sense to me, cause if you lose to a D2 program (not likely, but still) it is a dagger to your program, you lose to a crappy D1 program, and it is bad, but still not as bad as losing to a D2 program

As I posted, WNM was a late addition to the schedule. It's like an extra game. Boyle added it to avoid too long of a layoff between CS-Bakersfield and Mizzou. Plus, the win counts. It is hard to find teams to schedule during winter break, especially on short notice.

Down 13-22.

Boyle pulled all 5 starters after the first 2 minutes of suck.

22-21 Bad guys. 8-0 run for CU. I hate when ESPN.com doesn't have gamecast. What's that about?

At least we're hopefully back in gear. Nothing to worry about.

Not gonna lie, I'm a little excited to hear what coach has to say about the start.

Buffs win 92-70. Lots of guys scored in double figures.

11-4 non-conference

Bring on the Big 12!

:gobuffs:

Nice recovery for the Buffs.

Horrible start - nice finish.

Hopefully that will carry forward into the beginning of the Big 12 season.

I noticed in the box score no Nate Tomlinson. Anyone know anything about that?

He hurt his hip at Bakersfield. He only returned to practice yesterday. Nate should be good to go for Mizzou on Saturday.

I still dont like playing a team like this. I see little gain, and huge downsides.

The gain: Players dont take a week off from playing, and are able to stay in that "game day" mindset, They get a W

The downside: This is the super bowl for WNM, and just some silly game for CU as shown in the first few minutes. If CU didnt get their act straight they very easily could have lost to this team. You could just see it in their eyes, and how they played, CU looked at this as a glorified practice, WNM had us scouted, and had a game plan. This game also has no bearing on the RPI rankings, so come March all this does is make us elligable for the NIT. Watching the game, the players were not pumped at all, and they saw that in this game, they could win without much effort, I hope this doesnt carry over to Saturday, cause if they come out playing like that against Mizzou, or any Big12 team for that matter they will get completly spanked.

I understand this was a late addition, and a extra W could be a big deal this year, but I hope to never see schools like this on the roster again. At least if they are looking at D2 schools, what about the local guys (Colorado College, Mines, Colorado Christian I believe are all D2 schools)
