CU's waiting on his transcripts before offering, but he's got a 3.7 gpa so that's not going to be an issue.

He favors Iowa, but CU has made a strong move. Embree has invited him for an official visit. I would guess for this weekend, since he does his Iowa trip on 1/14 and wants to get enrolled in college classes for the spring semester.

If Embree can pull this off, we'll have him in time for spring ball and he'll be in the mix for one of the starting CB jobs (wide open competition).

New Colorado Coach Jon Embree has been recruiting him to be a Buffalo. He’s invited the defensive back to Boulder for an official but has not offered a scholarship.

When do classes start? I would think it'd be a little late to still be taking trips if he plans on enrolling for the spring.

CU classes start Monday and if he does in fact come to CU he'd be sol for classes.

Last day to add classes at CU is around the 18th. Would someone look it up? I'm on my mobile.

Thanks, JP.

I wonder how many credit hours an early enrollee needs to take in order to participate in team activities. Hopefully it's a light load.

Is there a Washington Redskins connection? How else would a DC kid be in the mix?

Embree said in a recent interview that for this recruiting class they would be looking all over the country.

Solid looking prospect, I don't see a CB when I watch most of these videos though, as he lines up at safety in most of it. His backpedal is poor/undisciplined but it's hard to tell if he wasn't taught to do it or is just too stiff. His break and closing speed look very good though so maybe it's a coaching thing. He throws his body around which is nice and he shows some soft hands in some of these vids. He'll jump a route if he thinks he knows where the ball is going, unfortunately that also opens him up to double moves, something that will be exposed in a CB who doesn't trust his backpedal on the field.

I like that Iowa has offered him because they have a history of hard-nosed DB's so Embree and company are on the right track. This guy needs some seasoning though if we're expecting him to compete for a starting gig in the 1st couple years he's here. What I see is a fast football player, as evident on some of the special teams plays he made. We are definitely hurting for more team speed so that will help.

"Coach Jon Embree said he liked my tape and he forwarded it over to the defensive backs coach," Harrington said. "I should know sometime later this week how the defensive backs coach feels about me. They told me to give them a call after my Iowa visit to see if I am still interested in coming to Colorado."

I'm surprised that we're waiting.

Probably a time versus resources issue. If he's really sold on Iowa, not worth a trip with so few days left.

I've heard rumors that Iowa has fallen off the radar and are not actively recruiting him right now. Seems like we're in the lead on this one for a much needed DB. Hopefully he can play CB fairly well. We need guys in a major way.

Hope we can land him. And hope he gets in soon, nothing like starting your freshman year a week or two late and behind in classes.

How does a guy with those measurables end up as a 3* with so few offers?

Recruiting baffles me.

As written in another thread:

I was just waiting for a 2nd source before reporting Adam's premium scoop from Rivals.

Harrington will be making an Official Visit to CU this weekend. He has a CU offer and there's a good chance he will not visit Iowa. It's also pretty much certain that he would not enroll for spring if he does, in fact, commit this weekend.

Nik noted that he has a 3.7 GPA, but I would also add that H.D. Woodson is a solid high school academically. He should do well at CU, assuming he commits this weekend.

I guess he is in for a pleasant surprise.

From Rivals:

What does he expect out of his upcoming trip to Boulder?

"First and foremost, I expect cold weather," Harrington said with a laugh.

Scout showing that he has committed to the Buffs. If true, great news. Now for a little positive peer pressure on Jackson and Wadood. Go Buffs!

Both Rivals and Scout have it now ...
"I came to breakfast and told the coaches I was going to commit, and they were very excited about it. Coach Embree was really fired up about it, and I'm just happy to be a part of the program".

Welcome, Mr. Harrington!
