Allbuffs Season Tickets - a proposal.

The membership has grown pretty significantly since we first bought season tickets four years ago. I think it's time we consider upping our season tickets to four. We'd give away two pairs per game instead of one. We would also need to have more people contributing. I think season ticket renewals come out at some point in the next 3-4 weeks and are typically due at the end of March.

Thoughts?

That would be fine, but what about one pair for people who have contributed and the other for any registered member.

I'm in for this year! I've won 2 of the raffles and participate every other year. Def worth it!

Seems like a good plan. Let's get a count of who will participate and see if the money's there. I'm in...

I'm in this year as well. I agree that we should see what kind of response before deciding on one or two sets of seats. I don't think we should set one pair aside only for people that contribute, but I think continuing what you did last year with extra chances to win if you donate and/or if you are a club member should be continued.

I'll donate, sacky.

Agree that the raffle should only to be open to AllBuffs members or registered users who donate money for the tickets. Buff fans only, of course.

I'm in too. I could see bumping to four if we get the money commitment.

What about upgrading to section 117 too?

:smile2:

Seems like if the winners each got two tickets, it would have the added bonus of introducing allbuffs members to each other, assuming the four tix would be all together.

Can someone remind me the rules for this? anyone with a membership (paid or unpaid) can enter the drawing? Or is it limited to those who contribute to the club?

I have my tickets, so I haven't been in the drawing, and I never paid attention to how this was set up.

Any registered member can enter, regardless of whether or not they contribute. Almost any registered member can win....

We can either make both sets of tickets under those same rules, or we can make the second set contributors only. Either way makes some sense to me...

So by "contribute" do you mean become a club member, or do you mean contribute to the purchase of the tickets out of goodness of their hearts or fatness of their bank accounts? Or either way?

Either way - paying for the tickets or a club membership at AB has never been a requirement to participate...

The way I envision this working is that we'd just draw for two sets of tickets per game instead of one. We'd keep the same rules for the number of chances to win, though. People who contribute to the purchase price of the tickets will receive three golf balls, paying allbuffs club members get two, and non-paying members get one. If I can, I'll get the seats next to each other so that we can start a miniature allbuffs.com section in Folsom.

We should encourage the winners to dress appropriately.:smile2:

And Allbuffs club members who contribute to the price of the tickets get 5. Right??? :smile2:

Sounds fair.

You'll still remember to keep the Junc balls on ice so you know not to choose those, right?

Ah, didn't know you changed the rules about %s. I'm down with that.

I should probably re-cap how this deal works.

Assuming we're going to buy four tickets instead of two, we'll probably need somewhere around 35 or so people, donating between $25 and $30.

The checks (or cash, if you're a privacy freak) are made to me, and I put the tickets on my credit card. We used to be able to have the checks all made payable to the University, but they cut that off a couple years ago.

Sometime in late July, I'll post for the drawing in the tailgate thread. There will be a separate drawing for each game. FC and I conduct two drawings. One for the first 3-4 games, one for the last 3-4 games. The first drawing is held about two weeks prior to the first game. The second drawing is usually held in late September or early October. If your name is drawn, you are notified via a posting in the tailgate forum for that particular game.

Any allbuffs.com member is eligible to receive tickets. We put in one golf ball for those who are non-paying members, two for paying members, and three for paying members who also contributed to the purchase of the tickets. Fans from other schools are eligible, but not for games where their prefered school is playing. For instance, DD can win tickets to any game other than the UW game. CSU husker can win tickets to any game other than the CSU game. The "price" of the tickets is to bring beer or something else of value to the tailgate. You must pick up your tickets at the tailgate. If you are chosen, but cannot attend a game, it is up to you as to how the tickets are used. You can choose to give them away, you can have a competition for who gets them, or you can give them to Junction to stop his incessant whining. This will be the fifth year that we've done this, and it's worked out very nicely.
