He has been committed to Washington for a long time, but he is interested in taking visits and is listed as a "soft verbal".

Also looking at Cal.

I wonder if it helps CU versus Washington and Cal that we're in the Pac-12 South? He'd get 1 game a year in LA for his family and out other in-conference roadies are going to be closer to home.

Hope we've got a shot here. We need at least 2 corners in this class that can compete for immediate playing time.

Down to us, Cal, and Washington. He is visiting this weekend, would be a very good get-he could play very early.

I have a gut feeling about this kid, hopefully the staff can switch his commitment to CU. This weekend is big, hopefully the weather is nice, and hopefully we can cell out the CEC!

We certainly have options at DB. It's just a matter of whoever commits first imo

"A day after returning from Boulder, Kameron Jackson said he is not strongly considering CU." Rivals

Assuming that Cal will have him. Didn't they just pick up a DB in the past week who had been committed to another Pac-12 school. Have to imagine they might be starting to run out of room for DBs. Certainly not pandering for Kam, but he might end up back in Boulder before all is said and done.

The problem is not kam or his desire for CU... its the academics of the last class limiting the # of risks we can take now. Unfortunate that this **** did not come to light before his visit.

I believe AZ said that it's not Kam's academics at issue, it's his buddy Wadood's. If they were going to go to CU, supposedly they were going to do it together and supposedly we took a pass on Wadood due to admissions questions. I don't know, but this wouldn't surprise me considering that it's an open secret that Erickson has stockpiled some talent at ASU by taking a ton of academic and character risks. Wadood is an ASU verbal and may fall into that academic risk category. (For the record, there are no issues reported on Wadood's character and I'm not insinuating that. Reports from the visit and interviews leading up to it suggest that he's a really good guy.)

oops. you are right. damn bear fights.

Grades? He can get into cal though?

As Snow said, Cal has a category for applicants that have some sort of special ability. It's part of the UC system to make it possible to admit a violin prodigy who may not do very well in math, for example. Cal uses this loophole in recruiting (football and basketball) to get guys like Marshawn Lynch admitted (a guy some doubt has the ability to figure out how to tie his own shoes). UCLA, however, does not use this loophole for athletes and its fans constantly bitch about how Cal plays that game.

Weird that he would come to CU if Woodood came as well, but he won't go to CU without Woodood and won't go to ASU with Woodood.

i think there is probably a joke in that line... but i dont want to get banned for it...

CU w/ Whatadude > Cal w/o Whatadude > CU w/o Whatadude > ASU

I can kinda see where the kid is coming from. Maybe he likes Cal more than CU (I can understand that) and he also thinks Tempe sucks. I think Tempe sucks.
