@BU
ISU
@Mizzou
ATM
KSU
@KU

i'm gonna call @MU and @KU the two toughest roadies on the slate. since losing to us, MU is 3-1 in conf with that L an OT L @ATM. stealing one at BU would be great (they aren't unbeatable), but i'm not counting on it....next 3 home games are absolute must wins. ATM is a tough matchup for us....bigs who can run the floor and Turgeon isn't gonna be too cute. he'll pound us inside. he's no nonsense like that. KSU will have Kelly.

Optimistically speaking:

@BU = LOSS
ISU = WIN
@Mizzou = LOSS
ATM = WIN
KSU = WIN
@KU = LOSS

Realistically, I would say the Buffs will be lucky to go 1-5 during this stretch.

kinda my point....re: optimism/realism. we're probably happy at 6-6 and still have roadies at ISU and Tech. beating ranked ATM, back to full force KSU, and top 5/10 Texas at the Foam Dome would be our shot at still making the NCAA. however, the team that lost at OU isn't an NCAA team.

I don't think this team is ready for the NCAA tournament yet. This looks like an NIT team to me.

Still an improvement over years prior, but not yet ready for prime time.

what sucks is we are peaking this year and we will have a dropoff next year.

Ask me after Baylor. Right now we're at a tipping point and it could go either way.

Burks is gone after this season. Enjoy it while you can Buff fans. :thumbsup:

I agree. He is gone. I'm not sure why some of you don't think he's ready for the NBA. His game does have flaws - sure, but he is definitely ready to be coached and developing in the NBA. There are a lot of things to fix, but he will work on those things in the pros, not college. His flaws aren't glaring weaknesses - he's ready.

I'm not sure it wouldn't be extremely beneficial for Alec to stay another year. We've seen some brilliant flashes of his capability, but there are still some key areas in which AB needs to develop his game to be successful in the NBA. Namely handling of the rock and being in better control driving to the basket, along with getting more consistency from the long range. He's definitely going to have to rely on that outside game more in the NBA. Physically, there's no doubt that he's already ready. Here's to Alec having a great career in the NBA whether he chooses to leave after this season or later

Hope we can steal one in Waco on Saturday. This losing streak is getting a little long...

I really think he stays if there's a lockout. I also think that there is a pretty decent shot at a lockout, maybe even 50%, there are a lot of NBA owners losing lots of money.

This stretch is rough. It's a shame this team couldn't have just beaten ONE of Nebraska or OU on the road last week. 3-3 is fine, but it's going to be tough to keep afloat through this 6 game stretch. I think we've got a chance at Baylor, they're playing better than they were, but they just aren't the team that many thought they'd be preseason. Obviously ISU at home needs to be a W -- the Cyclones are 1-5 and lost to TT in Ames, letting the SandAggies score 92. I don't think there's much hope for the game at Mizzou, although they're certainly a much more favorable match-up than some. The aTm and KSU games are the biggest of the season. Two quality conference wins in 3 days could change the course of the season quickly. I think the Buffs lose to aTm and beat KSU, but I think these will be very competitive. @ KU, shockingly, I have as a loss, but keep in mind that we only lost by 5 in AFH last season. This would place the Buffs at 16-11 (5-7). Hopefully we get a win at Baylor or against aTm in Boulder to be 17-10 (6-6) heading into the final stretch. 8-8 would be a solid achievement and the BasketBuffs could leave the Big12 with their heads held high.

We should have a good amount of fans at the Baylor game, with the Austin and Dallas groups meeting in Waco for the game. Hopefully we can pull out a win!!

We can still go 3-3 over this stretch, even with this road-loss to Baylor. They didn't blow us out, after all, thanks to our huge halftime lead.

Conference Tourney Title time.

Not quite yet. They're gonna have to win out at home now, and get 2 more road wins. That gets them 10 wins in conference. As frustrating as the last 4 games have been, the fusker game was the only one they didn't have a shot to win at the end.

This may be the only way for them to get to the NCAA's right now. But this is a dangerous tourney team, if they get hot, they can play with anyone, but right now there is no confidence in their game, you can see it in their eyes. The last couple of possessions last night it was obvious they werent excited to beat a ranked team, they were scared to screw up. You need to go in there saying "Bring it on" and last night they were not doing that.

Their's no way in hell they can play with everyone. They're not big enough and the good teams will know how to defend them. It's a miracle that our offense scores as many points as it does, seeing as how it's just a bunch of dribbling with no one trying to penetrate to the basket with the exception of Roberson, Burks, and Higgins. At the end of the day this team is not big enough and not physical enough to compete with the best, look at what happened with Kansas. We rebound we win, but size limited us, and will continue to until Boyle can get some big men in.

Will we lose to Kansas most of the time? yes

But do they have the talent to beat Kansas on any given day, they do.

If I was a betting man, I would bet against them, but if Burks/Higgins/Knutson is hot, they can beat anyone. There arent too many teams out there that have the ability for any one of 3 guys to go hot and be able to win. So yes, we are not a solid team (lack rebounding, true point guard, defense), but we do have that ability.
