Chants last night....

How did you guys feel about the student section chanting "HARRIS" over and over? For some reason the usher got mad at us but you could tell we got in his head. Do you like it better than the "FU 'insert school name here"?

That's completely appropriate.

As long as you're not yelling anything about a player's ethnicity/religion/cultural background/sexuality, his family, or some personal tragedy he has had in his life... it's all fair game.

Speaking of Duke, since they were brought up in an earlier post and are pretty much the gold standard for student section hecklers, here's a decent link to some of their work:

I hope people realize that as much as most of you hate the Cameron Crazies, most of you emulate them. I clearly remember standing in CEC with fellow CU students jumping up and down, and Duke fans did invent the "Air Ball" chant. Hate the Crazies all you want, hate Duke for whatever reason you want, but I hope you're able to respect various aspects of Duke.

One my favorite ones is when Lehigh came to play at Cameron with their brown and yellow uniforms, they were showered with "U-P-S" chants.

Before some player announcements, all the fans will stay silent and pull up newspapers in front of their faces.

I used to dream of attending Duke games while in HS...once I realized I wasn't good enough to play for Duke, I just wanted to be in the stands. It seems like a great experience...now I'm too old for that dumb ****.

I'm a Maryland alum (as well as Colorado) and I think Duke's conversion of "fear the turtle" to "fear the classroom" was fairly clever. I agree it's much more fun to be creative than profane.

I still like Gonzaga from a few years ago. The students picked one player and chanted Broke Back Mountain every time he was at the line. Really pissed of the admin though.
