Ringo: Plenty of blame to go around

He talks about how Tad fell on his sword and repeatedly said in the aTm post-game that there was no one to blame but him for the loss. Like Ringo, I love to hear that from a CU coach and absolutely loved this bit from Kyle:

"There was more accountability in Boyle`s five minute postgame meeting with the media than there was in Dan Hawkins` five years inthe Dal Ward Center."

We just need to work on the little things and it'll happen. Also, something about getting our horns out....

Bring it on, Scotchy!!!!!!:you::tongue2:

Well played, Lord Scotchy....

It's disappointing to see the Buffs slide as badly as they have over the last 3-1/2 weeks. Considering they came into the conference having won 9 of 10 and then started 3-0 of course. When they were (14-4; 3-0), if someone had asked me to put money down on how the Buffs would finish, I would have said they'd at least (at least!!!) win 6 of their remaining 13 conf. games; putting them at (20-11; 9-7); a likely NCAA selection.

I'm not sure where this team finishes now. Things look pretty scary and it looks as if the 9th place finish that many coaches predicted early, is becoming an actuality. They might actually be finishing worse than that. I hate to be negative!

We all know K-State will be a different animal tonight. This, in their world, is a "must-win" game and they're very capable. With the way their schedule finishes, they've got 5 very winnable games, including tonight, and have a really good chance to save face.

The way this team has crumbled. The way they've lost games, especially against OU/Baylor & Tex-A&M, just continues to prove to me that this team, the football program too, has developed or fallen upon an aura of bad luck. An aura that allows CU teams and their fans to be teased, with solid showings, and then all of the sudden the said team(s) simply falls apart.

I mean come on! It's not normal for a team to start 3-0 and look as strong as they did, only to dissipate the way they have? That's a little unusual. And were not talking about 3 initial wins against the bottom finishers in the conference, that happens every year with some teams and then they crumble once they face the elite. CU came out barnstorming against the likes of Mizzou, K-State, and Ok-State. Those are 3 of the best teams in the conference. I would have at least thought they'd finish 6th or better winning 8 games, at least.

Now, I maybe see a win tonight but this team has gotta be in shambles after the A&M game. Pretty depressing loss to say the least. I then see a win against Neb and maybe (maybe!!) another road win, at TTU or ISU.

However, something tells me that a BIG win is on the horizon. It's time for CU and the fans to be teased once again. Things have turned so bad in such a short amount of time. Perhaps wins against KSU/NEB, a road win at one of the said schools, and then maybe a HUGE win against TX!!?? That would propel this team back to respectability (8-8), and at least a small shot at still making the NCAA's. That would require a strong finish, a semi-final appearance, in K.C.

We'll see ....

Idk man. Look at how Texas finished last year. Look at how Cuse is playing right meow. When you get to conference play, most games are going to finish tight, and at the point you need to be able to hit FTs, which CU does exceptionally well, and have multiple ways to get easy buckets, which CU lacks. Part of that is that we don't have a post presence. When teams rely so heavily on guards to do all the scoring, it's almost always a formula for failure, even when the guards are supremely talented like in Villanova's case year after year. Our offense over the past few weeks has been almost entirely based around hoping Burks and Higgins continue to make difficult shot after difficult shot because teams are not leaving Knutson open because their post players can help slide over without having to worry about what our "big men" are going to do. Without a true PG, we turn the ball over and force up bad shots late in games when we desperately need buckets. Add to that that my mom plays better defense, and there was no way CU wasn't going to struggle against the tougher Big 12 teams on the road. It's been a disappointing finish to the year but I am just not sure CU was all that well built in the first place.
